Lars actually does have a new kit after all, interesting. They even did the few promo appearances with the old one so that's a little surprising. Dunno how I feel about the garish yellow color though.

I've seen the setlist for Amsterdam tonight. They've strangely decided to add new tape intros to some songs.
Also I think we'll have something similar to 1992 setup.

The songs seem to work better live than on the album.

And not a single fucking ride cymbal to be found.

Looking back on that video from earlier, I'm pretty sure it's only two and they move them around under the stage using the snake pit pathway since that has gates on it. The stage dips down on the other sides of the donut so there's not enough room for the kit to go that way. Otherwise I'd imagine all four would've been on the stage in the gear roundup.
Anyway, if they end up playing Bleeding Me or something during the tour he'd better have the ride ready to go, nobody wants a repeat of the 30th anniversary show, probably not even Lars.

I cut Inamorata down to 9:48 seconds Wow, that's a drastic cut. Less than 10 seconds left of a 11 minute song?

I cut Inamorata down to 9:48 seconds All their songs should be under 6-7 minutes.

Most of their best songs are under 10 seconds, such as Master of Puppets, which is only 8:38 seconds long.

In my head, in my own little world, I mixed in the 4 Portals songs into my 72 playlist. Now I have four atmospheric instrumentals on 72 Seasons. Yay me!

One of this album's weaknesses I'm noticing is the middle section riffs. So often the verses and choruses are excellent, but then they spend 2-3 minutes on a sub-par bridge and Kirk Hammett solo. Takes me out of otherwise great songs. Shadows Follow, Sleepwalk My Life Away, Chasing Light all suffer from this imo. I agree with Chasing Light...I don't hear it in Sleepwalk My Life Away but that's only because for an almost 7 min song, there isn't much going on. But I totally disagree with Shadows Follows. It's one of my favourite songs. Which minutes you are talking about in Shadows Follow?

it sounded like Rob to me 🤔 I definately hear a different 'male sound' than on the albums. I say it is Rob. But it is also likely that he may be singing over pre recorded Hetfield vocals. This isn't raw footage. I don't trust my ears to differentiate the details. Regardless it is a great performance and totally improved my liking of the song.

Watching James So What! interview. I got a bit of a laugh out of James expressing his frustration with Lars' propensity to still refer to songs by their working titles... even songs as far back as Death Magnetic.
Lars "Play black squirrel!" James "WTF?!"

It's 4 yellow drum kits being used onstage. The new stage setup is amazing. Once again.

Seeing more and more footage of James smoking cigars at the venue. It's kind of surprising considering how much I've heard them talk about health and longevity over the years. But hey, his choice.

You don't inhale a cigar so it probably just gives him dry mouth. The real question is, Is he smoking those Metallica cigars, or another brand?

Post rehab he seems to be going hard on the cigars, I wonder if that's helping give his voice that new found rasp and grit that's all over the new album and recent live gigs.

I don't think there was anything interesting or new in that interview, and Kirk seems to be way more out there than ever before. He's off on on another planet...talking about all the music that's ever existed or will exist in the future exists within him somewhere, and how great he is at guitar and how like his idols he is changing music forever. I don't mean this in a harsh way, but its like he has developed some sort of cognitive impairment or something. Stefan does he usual wishy washy interview questions talking about how great Kirk's solos are and how connected to his instrument he is...where's in reality it's like a handler or something just tells Kirk where he needs to be, and he just takes a guitar and starts playing wherever he needs to then wanders aimlessly to his next pre-arranged appointment. And if Metallica stopped, he'll still do what he does now. Go to where he is told, play some guitar and leave...just without Metallica.
The only thing about the album he talked about is what we already know, he improvised all the solos, deliberately uses the same licks over and over again and he doesn't remember anything he played. He'll just make up new solos at each show depending on how he feels.
I wonder if his "sober" means just from alcohol or everything...maybe he's off the booze but not the drugs, or maybe off everything....including some meds he's supposed to be taking

Yeah I did a skim of the second half before and thought he got into what riffs he wrote; I was wrong on this.
Agreed on Kirk being out there. Watching him slip past Lars in terms of accuracy and precision live was a sad thing to witness from 2011 on, but it’s gotten to the point where he’s on the albums because he sounds like Kirk soloing, not for the actual solos.
Dude definitely smokes a ton of weed or is extremely burnt out. These aren’t the words or performances of a guy who’s all there. Kinda sad really.
