James vocals sound like Justice vocals apparently on a track 👀 There’s so many reactions going around right now, loads of very positive reviews but also lacklustre one’s. For sure this album demands several spins to take in. Everybody agrees on that Inamorata is a beast of a song, some even elevates it to one of their very best ever. I’m psyched |

People have listened to it because CDs are floating around everywhere. No one's been bold enough to host it and face potential legal action, or just be the scapegoat to have to share it all around.

It's ok bro. We all have our weaknesses. I had a really rough night sleeping. I kept waking up and checking to see if Metallica uploaded the whole thing to YouTube, just in case. 😉
So... Rate The 3 with or without titles if you want to have some fun.

I strongly believe everyone here knows this, I was just messing around with Kirk. So when silentflames genuinely asked "Why aren't solos considered part of the writing process?" instead of answering him you decided to have a dig at Kirk. Fine. I thought it was more of a rhetorical question, or he was just wondering if this well known modus operandi of the music business is really fair. So I didn't bother to answer him directly and rather preferred to throw some light on the real white elephant in the room: even if giving credit to the soloist for a whole song were the norm, would Kirk deserve it nowadays? In my opinion, and apparently in the opinion of others in this topic, the answer is a big fat NO. |

I’m not gonna sleep tonight, it’s almost midnight. The hype train has left the station.
I cannot rate them yet, I’m trying not to listen too many times.
I wanna save some of the experience for tomorrow when I’m going to the movies with my buds. I love sharing new music with others.
I will say though. Kirk still has it and fuck me James goes HARD on this album. There’s some truly amazing stuff in there. Rob also finally sounds like he should on a Metallica album.
And there really are a lot of stuff that immediately takes your thoughts to Kill, Load, Garage etc. But somehow without it feels like rip offs. Also the already released singles will sound so much better in the context of the album.
I suspect it will be a tough full listen the first few times, but I’m more than up for that challenge.
Hope I’m not spoiling anything by this post.

But I'll probably only be able to listen to the new album on Friday, because I'm full of work until then. I just want Kirk to prove me wrong. He doesn't own me anything and don't have to prove anything to anyone, but it would sure be awesome if he could just deliver like he did in the 80s and 90s. |

I don't think I can give credit to Metallica that people who bought it already don't know how to rip it and upload it. Yes, most of them don't want to leak it or are not even thinking about it. But there are people who have the album, want to leak it but just don't know how to. So "hats of to the band"? No. Many people have it already. |

Still in two minds about the cinema tonight… I want to go for the hype of hearing the album today and being a part of the release party.
On the other hand I don’t care for the videos they’ve released so far, Winamp/Windows Media Player visualisations with shots of the band miming to the music, actually takes away from the songs for me. I don’t think I want more of that for my first listen. Then I have to go home and sleep and get through a work day before I can listen again.
If the album was out today and I’d listened through on my own already I think I’d go.
But the FOMO of not going is also strong knowing many of you guys are doing it.

Yes, yepsure I would also go to the cinema IF I listened to the album before, alone at my home. I think that this whole cinema idea is a horrible way to have a first listen but that just me. |

I reckon I'll go to the cinema because it may be the last time they do something like that and I may live to regret it.
I'm not interested in the film clips (unless there are ones that are done differently than those already released) but I do want to hear what they have to say about the tracks etc.

Right now, with the listening parties, the theatre, the leaks... I'm definitely suffering from FOMO right now. It's like when the concert tickets went on sale and I convinced myself that I really didn't need to see Metallica again, and I was so broke. But then the panic set in and I found a way. I was lying to myself lol 100%
I have my gimpy eye right now really holding me back. I don't want to chance catching an elbow to my eye from some drunk guy at a listening party jumping off the tables or something and the theatre premiere sounds amazing, but I know I'd be all anxious dying for a smoke in the awkwardness of being in a theatre with a bunch of people who really want to jump around but stay sitting down air drumming or bouncing their legs.
S&M was so loud I could not enjoy myself. Louder than a concert. And I want to listen to the flow of the album, not be all into track 3, and then have to listen to Lars rambling on for 19 minutes before the next song starts. Don't get me wrong, I could listen to Lars rambling all day, but the one exception is trying to focus on the new record.
I can't believe it's in a few hours for some of you. Take pictures, (film that bonus stuff to send to my DM 😉) and enjoy these memories.
