To be honest I think it's a dick move and disrespectful to be talking about ripping the album if it leaks and scavenging for links to steal their stuff IN THEIR OWN FORUM ahead of a release. Bands take their music releases very seriously. Metallica has obviously put a lot into their release parties. Coming on here and just openly talking about that and info exchanging is kind of an asshole move. I get you're all excited. But jesus christ, keep that shit to yourself. When did we become the official forum? |

I dont get the hype of leaks.
When my favourite band is releasing an album of new music I dont want dodgy files or to hear it thru PC speakers, I am very happy to wait for it as a high quality experience.
On Stefan, I know what you guys mean, however he will always protect his role in Metallica land, and you do this by taking care in what you ask and keeping the members comfortable and relaxed.
A journo from outside can ignore these things but likely find himself not being asked back next time.
Would love to see Metallica hunt down the leakers and expose them....see how much you like the attention when the band you love pin you to the wall.

I have my cinema tix but starting to wonder if this will be the first time I cant just walk into my local store and grab a copy.
The big store (JBs) has preorder options but only as delivery...missed the fucking point there.
I have preordered vinyl which will give me access to files, but again I just want to sit down with the booklet and hit Play.

I agree on all the moral reasons and will hold out until it's through an official outlet like their YouTube page. But, I love this drama, and if does leak causing Metallica to officially release it a bit earlier... I won't be upset about that š
It's like 50 hours to go or something. I can wait, sure, do I want to? No.
I can't wait to be drooling all over these songs with you guys over the weekend and beyond.

Iām just fully embracing the hype and I love watching the thrill everyone is going through. Iāve comfortably given this band over a thousand dollars at this point and Iām still going to the theater so I donāt feel too bad about hearing something a couple days early. Also this all feels so early internet to me. Checking multiple forums for any breadcrumb of info, itās like a little scavenger hunt š

Still not feeling the excitement; the songs we've had so far are pretty good but nothing amazing. If the rest of the album is similar (as the reviews suggest) it might not be as good as DM or HWTSD. Still grateful we're getting new music though.

Always loved "Holier Than Thou", but it's another one i felt it sounded a bit awkward live. Even at TBA tour.
I feel James gets a little winded with all those fast lyrics.
But this performance was actually pretty cool.

I just wandered into a JB at Melbourne Central and was about to put a pre-order in for the standard vinyl addition until she told me itās $110! Just the standard edition! Fuck me dead Iām not paying $110 for an album even if it is Metallica. She said theyāre only getting 2 vinyl copies in, but ~30 CD versions. I havenāt bought an actual CD in years and got rid of my collection ages ago but I might pick one up just to ensure I have the actual new Metallica album in hand even though most of my listening is via steaming due to the convenience. |
