I'm probably way older than you, as i started consciously listening to them in 1991 (missed the 93 show in Lisbon, because i was 12, but aware of it) and i've known OF them since the late 80's. Well, sounds like we're the same age. Actually, I think I'm a bit older than you. I started listening in 88. But, what's that got to do with anything? Length of time listening = ..... what exactly? You don't like that they're not the band you thought was "cool". That term is, and always will be, subjective. Basically: they're not angry young men. They're not even grumpy middle-aged men anymore. It is what it is. You don't have to like it. |

I think I'm gonna keep listening to this band for the rest of my life. I went through different musical phases in my life but Metallica's catalog was always the staple and mainstay of my preferences. I feel I have established a bond with these guys despite having never met them personally.
They sounded so tight on Kimmel yesterday, and that got me even more excited to hear the new album.

Kimmel was fantastic last night, I'm loving their live sound right now. Rob mentioned in his video interview that they worked hard on becoming tighter as a band in the last few years and it's definitely showing. I don't have concerns about their longevity like I used to.

I kinda hope Rob will switch from the low singing octave to a shout. Hearing a "LUX AETERNA!" under James' high note would help smooth that out a little more.

They had some issues with IDHAS apperently. Guy hasn't confirmed wether it was a performance or technical issue. Oh well, that's what multiple takes are for.

All Metallica-related appearances this week were filmed yesterday afternoon. |
