The clean intro to Murder One wasn't good enough to be remembered? Or the clean guitar in Here Comes Revenge? Just shows how forgettable half of that album of that album was. Looool I forgot murder one yes. Goes to show what an amazing song that was I will not put Revenge in to the clean category, not Manunkind either. |

So far the new record sounds like Disc 2 of a Hardwired To Self-Destruct double album; IE Load/Reload.
Now, I'm not complaining. For the most part I do like the 4 singles so far, but I was not expecting such a similar follow up.
You could take any one of the first four singles and replace any song of HWSD 6 years ago and you would never know they were from two different records.
A curious choice by a band that has always been very conscious about repeating itself.

Listened to Hardwired today, some of those songs are much better than I remembered. The transitions and solo’s are also superior to the new songs. James sounds amazing on that album. Moth Halo Dream All top tier songs to me. Spit NTWD Very good songs as well. Darkness is to me in that second category, none is so far top tier. Doesn’t mean they are bad though, HW just had an amazing top level. I would like to point out, that of the 5 songs you listed, only Moth Into Flame was a pre-released single. I feel pretty confident that the best songs haven't been heard yet. |

I gave Hardwired a good, close listen last night. I like some of these songs, but the run of Manunkind, Revenge, Savage, and Murder is so much bloat right in a row. IDHAS is a step up from all of those; a solid track #9.

All of the singles are definitely a step up from HW’s singles (except Moth Into Flame). SS feels like upgraded Atlas Rise, 72S sounds like upgraded Hardwired. Lux and IDHAS feels fresh and they are catchy too.

Why does everyone hate on Revenge? I think it's a decent, gloomy song. The chorus is so lame. Mostly just chugging on the low E with cheesy lyrics and what I think is a really weak vocal melody. Also that ridiculous snare fill before chorus 2. But the verses and solo are solid. Definitely my least favorite one of the album. |

Oh my god, just listen to any song from HTSD than listen to 72S. But still, there is something wrong with 72 seasons and Screaming Suicide on Apple Music and Youtube Music. Mix sounds much better on Spotify. There is some inconsistency in mixes over AM. Lux and IDHAS are quieter while SS and 72S is louder. I don’t know why. |
