If it's the last song meant to leave you pondering then I will listen to it last. Like, why would you read the emotional final chapter of a book before starting at page one. That's just me, and if it is grand and epic as they're claiming, listening to the rest of the album after would be a bit of a downer.

I have no expectations to the last song, 11 min… My brain cannot comprehend that it’s not going to be very repetitive, but of course with brilliant sections.
Maybe if the intro is 3/4 min of ambient stuff

I’m craving something “epic” to sink my ears into. Then I’ll be able to enjoy the rest for what it’s worth. I think once I get that song I love, I’ll be able to relax and be in a better mood to enjoy the album and I’m assuming that’ll be the one that hits me the most based on what is being said about it. |

anyone still not digging the album artwork? I got used to is, especially seeing the packaging helped. But i am still not a fan of the cover art and definately eill not wear any shirt with that. But i do like some of the ideas and I LOVE the black and white photos of the band inside the sleeve |

The concept is good but the execution could've been much better specially for a behemoth brand such as metallica creating an insightful album such as 72 Seasons.

Listened to Hardwired today, some of those songs are much better than I remembered. The transitions and solo’s are also superior to the new songs. James sounds amazing on that album.
Moth
Halo
Dream
All top tier songs to me.
Spit
NTWD
Very good songs as well.
Darkness is to me in that second category,
none is so far top tier.
Doesn’t mean they are bad though, HW just had an amazing top level.

Those are my exact rankings of that album. I'm not expecting any song from 72S to top Moth/Dream/Halo, but will be pleasantly surprised if any do. Those songs are every bit as good as TBA material imo
Based on the reviews though, I am expecting a way more consistent album than Hardwired. Especially based on where the singles are placed on the tracklist.

Or if some were cut away. But even if 72 Seasons is more tight it still makes me a tad bit sad that they more or less have abandoned the clean guitar. The one thing that always made them better than everyone else was their ability to write amazing clean melodies. Since TDTNC it’s been gone, no clean intros, no clean breakdowns. Nothing. Only the bit in Halo which was amazing but also very limited on the full context of the song. They are sooo good at this and I wish they would use that ability much much more. |

The clean intro to Murder One wasn't good enough to be remembered? Or the clean guitar in Here Comes Revenge? Just shows how forgettable half of that album of that album was.

Doesn’t mean they are bad though, HW just had an amazing top level. Agree very much! It’s a really solid album. I’m surprised people are down on it. I really hope this album is great, but it needs to prove it first. So far hardwired individual songs >. I’m excited and hope for the best though. |
