I just want people who get the leak to reassure me it’s really good and have me excited for a few songs. I can’t get a good feel from these ridiculous mainstream reviews right now. On what standard? Like 80's really good or post-St. Anger really good?

If you are enjoying the 4 releases, you'll enjoy the rest of the album. Might be a few higher points or lower points compared to what we've already heard, but overall you know what to expect by now.

Like 80's really good or post-St. Anger really good? Like DM and hardwired. What was said about Inamorata has me looking forward to that song specifically. Unfortunately, what I’m getting is most of it is more of the same as the singles. Which in my opinion hardwired dominates right now.

Not having a "making of" vid this go around confirms this sense of unpredictabily that I've always loved about this band. By the way, I'm getting superhyped right now with the interviews piling up. I'm trying to avoid reviews, though. What interviews ? There are band members scheduled to appear on the radio next week (H. Stern included), plus the So What! one-on-ones with Lars, Kirk and James should be near too. Blabbermouth has had bits and pieces of Lars lately. Nothing earth-shattering but the band's just set the ball rolling on all things press. The album should leak anytime soon next week. Didn't Hardwired leak 3 days before release date? This article has some cool tidbits (and an awesome layout and design too!): consequence.net/cover/metallica-cover-story-72-seasons/

I will avoid the leak if the sound quality will be poor. We can wait one more week. And if we die before the release, then well, we will be dead anyway.
But I'm happy to say that my excitement increased a lot in the last two weeks. Bring it on!
Also one of the reviews used "Kyuss & Orion" to describe the final song. This is enough for me get excited. I'm not a Kyuss fan but I like the tones of such kind of heavy music.

I am excited that my favorite band is putting out new music. So I will keep posting my thoughts. I remember with HWTSD hearing Moth and being blown away that it sounded so good. James riffing was superb to me in that song. Then Atlas Rise came out and the lyrics resonated with me.
“All you bear All you carry All you bear Place it right on Right on me Die as you suffer in vain Own all the grief and the pain Die as you hold up the skies Atlas, rise! How does it feel on your own? Bound by the world all alone Crushed under heavy skies Atlas, rise”
As I listen to Lux, I like it more and more. That’s the top for me at the moment. Nothing has hit me yet like these. No lyrics have grabbed me yet. I heard people think the body of work together works well together, so that’s what I’m hoping for. I think when I get the album I’ll jump straight to Inamorata to pull me right in (based on what I’ve read), then start from the beginning of the album fresh. Any lyrics that stand out with the singles for anyone yet?

I think I'm pretty far opposite on lyrics, and I prefer most of the new lyrics to anything on HTSD. HTSD isn't bad either, James just doesn't sound like he's singing about anything in particular. The 72S singles feel more direct and conjure up more concrete imagery in my head.

Italian review posted by blackpasku on the official forums. Some interesting tidbits. talian journalist tells his thoughts after a one listen press conference at Universal. Highlights:
Shadows Follow, the best one Room of Mirrors Inamorata
Worst ones: You Must Burn! Darkness
Also appreciated 72S, Lux, Chasing Light and Too Far Gone.
Sleepwalk and Crown appear to be too repetitive, especially about the pace.
Throughout the songs he criticized Hetfields’ choruses and Hammett’s solos.
End of the recap!

The new Zelda game had all the artwork from a yet to be released art book leaked a few weeks back by this exact method. Was an employee on the inside who took pictures discreetly from the waste pile. Yeah, I'm sure their trash and recycling is incinerated on site or something. But it's still nice to dream.

I assume they’re in hot water!

Yeah. Same with this Metallica factory. Every place I've ever worked at had employees who steel anything they can. The NDAs etc to work at Nintendo, Ubisoft, Metallica record plant etc must be so sick. Like, they must have security checking everyone before they leave. I've had that at jobs and all we dealt with was shit clothing from Malaysia and Singapore The Zelda method of leakage was discovered because you can tell from the images that they were misprinted and skewed, the pages, so it was for sure someone snapping a few pictures while "Hanging out' by the water fountain next to the recycling bin.
The lawsuit these record manufacturers employees would face for lifting anything must be insane, and word gets around fast, they'd probably never be able to find work in that field again.

Okay, I've read reviews and (unfortunately) have put very high and quite possibly unrealistic expectations on "You Must Burn" and "Inamorata".
Good thing is that now I'm finally very hyped for the album. Bad thing that if they don't deliver it is going to suck even more.

Inamorata is definitely being put on a massive pedestal by the band and the media. Sounds very interesting indeed.

Justin Hawkins reviews again Is there supposed to be a link here ? It’s like I don’t see specific links in the posts the last few days :( Yes mate, I have inserted the youtube vid. I see it my side and didnt do anything different making the post. If you are interested, head to Justins YT channel, its his latest vid. Was enjoyable, Im a fan of his quirky reviews and he is a fan. Maybe hit Alan, jayc or Mob up to take a look at why youre missing shit? Youre a mod too so can you look into that sort of detail? Ive noticed posts start blank (besides text) when someone has inserted a twitter thing, but eventually pops up

The mobile version of this website has been buggy these days. Takes forever to load threads, and those inserted links do take a while to load in.

The May issue of Total Guitar has an article with Kirk and Rob talking about each song. It's posted on the other forum. It is giving me massive good expectations. Mentions guitar harmonies on a bunch of songs, and an extended harmonized guitar solo section WRITTEN BY JAMES! On Inamorata.

Man Inamorata is being hyped so much. Too bad we prolly won't hear it live because of its length. I don’t think it’d be in regular rotation but I’d put money on hearing it by the end of the tour. It sounds too hyped to not play, even if it takes a year like Spit did.

Man Inamorata is being hyped so much. Too bad we prolly won't hear it live because of its length. "The most important song in Metallica history!" Not joking, this comment is being amplified by the band and press. I don't know what to expect at this point. Like, is it going to make me actually cry and reevaluate my life or fandom or something? Or is it like a metal version of Jr Dad, which is a good song, but I felt got over hyped with the guys talking about crying all over each other while recording...and it's way too long.

I'm seriously considering starting the album from the last song. But important is different than best. Maybe because it means so much to James and the band or maybe I'm explaining it this way to curb my excitement, idk. Junior Dad is long but it does have lots of heart and soul in it.
