There’s a song called sleepwalk my life away ? That’s a horrible title FYI - Inamorata means a persons female lover, on Japanese Lulu part III'm out, this is getting absurd. Btw: Inamorata means female lover in LATIN. Not japanese.

Sounds like a depressing album, got a good review though.

I honestly think part of the problem is us, not Metallica. Not saying the new songs are all Master of Puppets quality or anything, but we are just a bunch of sour old farts that hone in on the negatives at first, declare our dislike of these songs, then come back a week later sheepishly and say "hey guys turns I actually love this fucking song". Lol this so much - nothing really wrong with it either. I like how we have our little community to observe these nuances we all only know because of how dedicated we are to this band. This board is still going strong because we all have a mutual understanding that we don't need to express how much we love this band every post if we want to be critical. Meanwhile I just read Wolfish get razzed on the official forums just because he brought up the ridiculous hi-hat

Heard 72 seasons for the first time since Saturday, I must admit it was better than I thought the last time. I don’t know what it is, when I hear a Metallica song the first few times I can totally get upset over so much stupid shit. But then I just kinda get used to it/accept it and then somehow it doesn’t bother me as much anymore. But this is a weird thought process because I still think those parts are utter shite, but I can enjoy them anyways after some time. I guess that’s the power of having a favourite band which have meant so much to you, maybe you cut them some slack, maybe you are just happy they are still around. Either way if you don’t overthink it then I guess it’s just cool to be able to enjoy it more. I still kinda think that in some way I’m undermining my own analytical skills by just accepting something that I know is not good enough, and I would for sure not give other bands the same liberty in lazy arrangements. But fuck it, i’d rather be hyped and positive instead of an old sour fart which pulls his hair out because of Lara’s misuse of hi-hat. These songs all rock in their own way, ESPECIALLY if you listen to them in a row. Lux have never sounded better to my ears than today when finishing all 4 songs. T:l:d:r Love the new songs and cheers from Germany, I’m being treated with loads of great Weissbeer I think the flip side of this too is that because it's Metallica, we're super analytical and nitpicky with everything new. We're hyper sensitive to their various traits and pick up on them straight away, snare sounds, high hat volume, bad transitions, shit solos etc...it's all we hear on the first listen. After listen #5, 10, 15, etc.. we're just hearing the song as a whole and start to enjoy it. Thank you!

Yeah, me and a few more got bashed for bringing up the awkard transitions or Kirk's mediocre solos too, despite my explicit love for the band and saying I enjoy the 4 singles. But it's always a couple of posters that get offended (and most likely SpideDan too, lol).

night 1 will open with 72 most likely, so can we expect a taped intro up until the count and fast riff kicks in, like Hardwired did?

Lars accenting James' "feeding on the wrath of man" with snare hits is a perfect example of simplistic drumming that just works.

Kirk is standing pretty far away from the others, who are very close to each other. Any conspiracy theories?

Kirk smells and the others pushed him away.

^ Kirk is the new Jason for doing a solo project, have you seen how miserable he looks in the 72 Seasons album sleeve?

Anyone notice that the outro in Lux at 3:01 (audio version) sounds out of place as if it was pasted from the intro?

Sorry for the spam, but with every listen I get more excited for the new album. I’m trying to stop listening to the singles til the 13th but the hype is too real. Also starting to think, even though they’re super similar, I’m digging the 72S production more than HTSD.

There are some really good summaries of each song posted in the media 72 thread on the official boards if anyone is interested and missed them. Gave some really good insights on what to expect.

There's a "set me free" in Room of Mirrors apparently. Set me free to Hetfield is what California is to Kiedis.

Will we get the making ofs along with the album? I would wire SpiderDan a couple hundred bucks to get making of's. I can't tell you how much I've watched the making of DM and HTSD.
