Screams of Load - and I love it. I need to put that main riff on constant loop in a room in my house. Instant headbang.

I'll give the song a chance to grow on me, but one thing I can say for sure is that I'm BEGGING for a ballad at this point. Hardwired was missing one and this album so far is more Hardwired.

I'm feeling really optimistic about this. Based on the singles it's lining up to be more of an attempt of a cohesive, more midtempo-driven album and a ballad would hopefully fit nicely in that formula. Can't imagine they got through a whole pandemic without writing a single sad boy slow song.

Okay after a few more listens it still feels like it belongs with HTSD Disc 2, but I also think I'm gonna end up liking it more than half of that disc.

The "If darkness had a son" part at 5:40 is my favorite. Slightly different vocal delivery but it really works.

Yeah I'm 100% digging this more than Screaming Suicide. Still not on the level of Hardwired's best songs but it's good.

1. listen in - what a cluster fuck - very disappointed. 2. Listen in - Love the intro & and the outro. It’s just a tad too long in both areas. The rest needs more listens
Thoughts so far
- Verse needs several listen before I will get used to that. - Chorus is way too happy and doesn’t flow good enough to be catchy - Solo is almost 1 min of pure wank, 60 fucking seconds - there’s a reused lick in there as well - Rhythm behind some of the solo is awesome - James’ high pitched scream at the end is horrible, he never goes deep, makes no sense. It’s also were his voice by far is at its best.
3rd listen comming up

Definitely did not expect this. This song is way more brutal than the last two and I can see why. This seems like a personal song yet again from James. I am getting Load mixed with Justice + GOJIRA vibes.
Sorry but I burst out laughing when I heard "TEMPTATION". I thought that they reworked 'that temptation song' from 2001.

Yeah the temptation part is very weak and unnecessary.
3rd listen in
Good stuff: The intro That main riff is AWESOME Some of the vocals are very good Riff behind the solo Bassdoodle in the end Outro with half time drumming, been wanting this forever, too bad Lars didn’t go half time on the cymbal as well.
Shite things: The verse, it’s like a mix between Reload and second disc of hw. Chorus, it’s not heavy, it’s not melodic, it doesn’t make me wanna sing along at all The solo is pure wank, there’s no beginning, no end and no build up to anything. Just pure wank. Reused lick from Murder One (I think) hurts my ears Bridge riff is bad The Temptation bit is weak and so is James’ voice in that part That scream in the end. Ugh

I dig it. But I must admit that the song structures are getting predictable and I'm worried all of these songs are going to follow this. The three songs they released all start with a cool James riff, then Lars comes in and then 1/3 into the song they build up to Kirk's solo and then go back to the main riff almost all at the same points of the song. I don't know, I hope I'm wrong, but it's feeling samey.

The color scheme of the video reminds me of the band photos in the Reload booklet.
I gave it a couple of spins. It's there, it exists now. I like that we got 3 songs ranging from fast, medium, to groovy.
Things I thought were stupid about the first 2 I feel completely different about now. The 3 tracks so far sound like they're from the same album, headspace wise, so there is some cohesion there, that's nice. I'll take a walk later and play the 3 back to back see how that feels.
I think the teasers gave me time to digest the "riff" before diving in, so this one was not much of a shocker going in.
It's odd to see the resurfacing of the Temptation line in some form, after all the slack it got from the SKOM movie sessions I'm guessing James doesn't give a fuck about other's opinions anymore, which is a good thing, I guess.
As seemingly "same" as the song is through out, I'm kind of glad they stuck with the idea, and didn't deviate into some random punchy stops into some disjointed section that doesn't flow.
The album version won't have the droning sounds at the beginning and that pisses me off because I like the vibes that the tone of those sounds introducing the song.

It seems to me that all the solos that Kirk wrote in the last 15 years can be ramdomly swapped regardless of the song and they will always sound the same. It's abysmal, really.
In the other hand, except for the lame drum beat at the begining, this single is by far my favorite. Loved the vocals, the bass and even the lyrics are ok too. This one is a hit!

ot sure what to think yet. The other two songs were more 'in-my-face'. Like BAAAAM! This is now more like 'poof'.

Second listen. Like it, it’s going to grow on me a lot too. Suicide took a few listens before I liked it. This one I like off the bat because it’s different and creative and way less “samey” sounding to SS and Lux and most of Hardwired.
Solo is terrible though. I miss loving Kirk Hammett solos. Now his main strength is little licks and leads in various songs, but he can’t seem to craft a main solo anymore, probably more improv.
The main riff and the vocals are great. The chorus is almost a bit Foo Fighters-ish.
