If this is the next single (99% sure of that now) then that intro will definitely have James getting everyone to pump their fists in the air live much like FWTBT. The confidence in their faces they have while presenting this little part gives me the feeling that this one really takes off into something insane once it gets going, like they're ready to explode. |

Mix-wise, the audio has been in mono for all of these TikTok’s, so center panned stuff like the snare is probably getting a little boosted artificially right now. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there’s one more layer missing.

Killer intro. It'd be cool to know which songs were conceived while in lockdown and which not. This clearly was from the Zoom sessions of 2020.
I remember James got quoted saying they had already worked on 10 songs back in early 2021, if I'm not mistaken. Did all of those end up on the new album? Time will tell.

But I don't wanna hear stuff like that because the real thing will probably be much worse :( The thing I'm most afraid of actually is the dry dead HW production, chugga chugga riffs like that needs distortion and sharpness, their current production is anything but that. James's tone will probably sound a lot less evil on the actual recording than on a tiktok video, and that bums me out |

Meh. The vocals are amazing and I like the dark tone of the song. The solo starts off in a very generic Hamett way but it actually kind of sounds good towards the end. Overall there's not really a lot going on other than that one riff.

It's the most meh out of the gate of the three for me, but there's still a lot of stuff I like.
It feels very HTSD disc two to me, with a lot of similarities to Confusion. I think something that's going to end up hurting this album a little is how samey it sounds to HTSD production wise. I think there's some stuff that sounds more similar to my ears because of how close the two albums sound. I think this has to be the closest two Metallica albums have sounded tonally, even Load and ReLoad are more different.

Decent chug riffage, with subpar vocal delivery, specifically the chorus imo. Overall pretty meh tbh... Great solo.
