New album art, timely release date. Slight chance it's releasing midnight (read on their site incorrectly as 9pm PST 1/19) but it's coming.

I think it'll be an epic Halo/Day kind of emo beginning into epic speed second half, but that last 30 seconds will be a peaceful light piece to signal hope.

Someone at the office is having a bad morning. Imagine everything is ready to go, and someone misplaced a USB key.

Preview is now up on Apple music. Sounds good. The verse is nice and dark, the other part is a bit meh, got a tease of solo in there as well.
James is bringing the "gruff" out on this album vocally.

It's starting to hit streaming services now. There was an Apple Music preview link posted on Judas, I gave it one listen. I think Kimbo is going to hate it.

Heh. This is going exactly like with the last album. The first single is a short, fast and aggressive song that I absolutely love, and the second single is a bit more mid-tempo one which I'm not feeling it right away. Yeah, not really loving "Screaming Suicide". It reminds me of the Beyond Magnetic fluff. A somewhat boring filler-type of a song. Oh well, it's a new song from Metallica, so yay, I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sounds like Atlas, Judas Kiss and Hate Train had a baby.
It's good, I liked the second half of the song alot. I just hate those hi hate and James only one liners.

After two full listens:
Don't immediately love it like I did with Lux, not as catchy or hooky by any stretch Love the gritty vocals Another NWOBHM song, main riff similar to Lux, Atlas, etc... So many generic/filler transitions we've heard a million times on DM and HW Bass is good in the mix I actually think this is a bit meh...not bad, will see if it grows on me

I think it's good. I'm getting a very late 70s/early 80s vibe from this album now. More simple leads and riffs, but not in a watered down way. It feels like more of a deliberate stylistic choice. Both singles aren't in the key of E!
That being said I don't LOVE it.

The last little part sounds like Moth into Flame.
2 listens now and ... I hope there is much harder stuff on the album.

I just hope we get some variety, I don't want an album full of late 70s/early 80s sounding songs in the key of A with Death Magnetic/Hardwired sounding stitched together transitions.
Lux ticked the NWOBHM box, I hope they also give us some Outlaw Torns, some Sad But Trues, etc...

Lux ticked the NWOBHM box, I hope they also give us some Outlaw Torns, some Sad But Trues, etc... I'm feeling like we're gonna get surprised with a long track. If you average the rest of the songs' lengths ("over 77 minutes" minus 9 for the two released) you get an average of about 6:50 a song. Unless they're gonna consistently be all 6-7 minutes long, I'm feeling a longer one. The longest on HTSD was Halo at 8:15. This recording feels kind of live, does anyone else agree? I know they recorded Dream and NTWD "live" (James, Rob, and Lars instrumentally). Greg's voice at the end could be a subtle little nod to that too.

James voice is the most unexpected part on first listen....in a good way. Was hoping Lars would chill a bit on his highhat timekeeping like its a live show not a studio album. About on par with Lux for me, hoping it grows on me a bit, I'm hearing a lot of Atlas in there.
Yet to watch the video, always prefer to hear the song before attaching visuals to it. (Wish I had done that with Hardwired songs)
