Kerry's such an idiot omg. So it's him playing bass on the later Slayer albums? Did I read that right? KK is a dick but the him vs. Tom thing has a lot of layers to it. I get the impression Tom hasn't been fully into Slayer since the early 2000s, and I'm sure that has to be frustrating for Kerry who's still fully vested in it. But at the same time, Kerry's ego could've been what made Tom feel like that in the first place.

Even the singer kind of bothers me.i am unfamiliar with his previous work, and in any other or past work wouldn't think much wrong with him or his style, but in this context, it's like his delivery and "vibe" is so Tom Araya. This project feels like I'm watching Kerry King playing with the best.t ever Slayer tribute band, and they are playing never before heard Slayer songs. The singer (Osegueda) is over doing that shouty thing and KK's riffs just aren't as good as Hanneman's imo.

I'm sure Kerry is going to be playing Slayer songs on the solo tour, but I wonder if he'll avoid playing Jeff songs.
Edit: lol I'm sure he'll play some. Just did some research and learned literally every Slayer "hit" was written by Jeff besides Repentless if that counts.

Kerry's such an idiot omg. So it's him playing bass on the later Slayer albums? Did I read that right? How does that make him an idiot? Kerry was asked a question and he answered it. He's sharing interesting info about the band that I'm sure a lot of fans didn't know. I don't get the hate about this. He played bass on the albums. Tom's not even disputing it. If anything, Tom Araya is totally unprofessional & unmotivated for being the 'bass player' and not even playing bass on his band's albums.

The bass question was an unrelated afterthought.
I think he's an idiot because he talks a lot of shit about a lot of people and comes across as very arrogant.

It's wild that Repentless ended up being one of Slayer's most well known songs. Well deserved imo, I actually really like that whole album more than your average Slayer album.

New songs plus Slayer songs. Sounds as good of not more better than Slayer imo...

Strange situation of a Slayer reunion but KK and Araya not speaking to each other.

This must be frustrating for Kerry. He has this band that sounds great and all seem super into it, and they'll be opening for Lamb of God and playing evening sets at festivals.
Then in the Fall he's playing audiences 10x that size with a guy who doesn't really give a crap. I know he's making bank on it so he wins either way.
The Rockville show had crazy good energy.

Seems weird KK playing Slayer songs without the rest of the band, not digging it.

This album is kinda cool. I hear it verging from Slayer more than I expected at times, but then there's a few songs that sound worse because I'm expecting Tom's vocals. Mark's own thing is very cool, but on the title track I can hear him just doing a Tom impression.
The middle stretch of the album reminds me of Newsted at times. Trophies of the Tyrant was a cool twist on Kerry's normal sound.

Not bad but quite a few of recycled Slayer riffs?

Not bad but quite a few of recycled Slayer riffs? He wrote songs for Slayer so unless it's a literal copy of an actual Slayer song, then they're going to sound like Slayer riffs. Cos Slayer riffs are Kerry King riffs.

Not bad but quite a few of recycled Slayer riffs? Have we ran out of metal riffs so badly that we need to start making them sound like "what if Slayer was in a major key"?

Listened to the new KK album and it kinda sucks, corny over the top shouty vocals, boring recycled Slayer riffs and metal cliches aplenty. 4/10.

Never noticed this before but KK looks evil like the BTK killer or Anton Lavey.
