Slayer was badass until Seasons in the Abyss, then Slayer was good until God Hates Us All, then Slayer was awesome until World Painted Blood, then Slayer was ehhhhhhh until now. When one of your lead songwriters dies and your drummer that crafted and set the tempo for the songs got fired over something stupid, then Slayer gets a lot of points deducted from me. I heard why Dave Lombardo got fired and it's ridiculous and I can believe it. To me Slayer died in 2013 with Hanneman. Now they are 40% Slayer.

Back on track. The last consistently decent album Slayer released was Divine Intervention :fact: The fact that anyone thinks Divine Intervention was "consistently decent" makes me weep for humanity. Dry your eyes son. As you know, art is subjective. DI is the last Slayer album that I don't hit skip with regularity.

Tbh Christ Illusion is better than all metal released in the past decade imo.

Divine Intervention is more consistent than Christ Illusion and World Painted Blood, but the highs on those albums are better than anything on DI.
tbh

WPB is the album that got me back into Slayer after being board with everything after Undisputed Attitude. Still went to see them live a bunch of times during that time, but only to hear the classics. I just really love WPB.

I just never bothered giving a chance to the last 3...that horrible Fidelman production with the sloppy muddy bass drums with the thin guitars that fall through the sonic landscape..and now Metallica will have it too..rejoice son

So i like how all these videos are like a movie, but, they are a bit pointlessly violent. I get that its the shock value they're going for, but its a bit much IMO. And what's going on now? The guy was a Nazi or something? And why murder the family at the end? Are these good guys or bad guys?
Slayer in the snow, lol, don't know why, but its funny, like the King Nothing video.

It doesn't make any sense to me either.

Abysmal video, song and lyrics. Not even the good vocals can save this. Bostaph's fills are annoying and his snare tone is worse than ever.

Implode and the title track sound so bad, I want to impale Bostaph on his drumsticks, light a BBQ under him and turn him over slow until the stiffness comes, then force the carbonised bits with a plunger down the throat of however engineered the drums. Stillness Comes sounds a bit better, like there's some reverb. Is it the case on the CD as well, or was that just the preview they released before the album?

I Wonder how much Danny was paid for doing these or if he is a fan and did it for the joy no charge.

Riff at about 1:46 is one of my all time favourites. Absolutely killer at full speed.

Wrong. It's Disciple, with the Darkness of Christ intro. Period.

I doubt "Disciple" would make my top 30. Not even sure I'd rank it as best on GHUA. I'd probably give "New Faith" the edge.
