To be honest, all I'm interested in is if there's gonna be any 40th anniversary celebration and the new stuff for the next album.
And when it comes to box sets, I'm more curious about the ones for St. Anger, DM and HWTSD as they will mots likely contain leftovers.

The demos are cool to listen to a couple of times, but so far the most interesting thing I've heard from these box sets was that unfinished Fang cover from the MOP box set. Not saying at all that they aren't well done, but the unreleased music from the later albums really excites me.

I want them to stop mixing the 80s and the 90s together (therefore watering down both decades...but especially watering down the 80s) and focus on one decade (preferably the 80s)

I like HTSD but there are a few songs that to me are kind of fillers, Murder One is a b-side for me. sorry to the Lemmy fans out there.

Murder One and its animated music video should've been released as a tribute to Lemmy on an anniversary of his death a few years after the album came out, maybe on the 5 year in 2020. It's a fine tribute with the video but a pretty crap song by itself. The album would've flowed a lot better if you just removed it from the tracklist.

Murder One is filler. Should have been on disc 3 with Lords Of Summer.

I'm still annoyed they decided to go the double album route even though it's shorter than Load. I wouldn't be surprised if they designed the whole double CD design and didn't want to scrap it. I removed that track entirely, along with two others. My tracklist is HW Atlas NTWD Moth DNM HOF Confusion LOS Revenge SOTB I know there are some mixed reactions on HW and Atlas but on the whole it's nice to see people think disc one is strong. IMO it's their best set of songs this century.

I'm still annoyed they decided to go the double album route even though it's shorter than Load. I wouldn't be surprised if they designed the whole double CD design and didn't want to scrap it. That was basically confirmed by Greg Fidelman in a fan club interview around the release of the album. He was pretty candid in that LoS was meant to be on the album and that would've pushed it just barely over the CD runtime maximum, but he didn't like it and eventually they opted to leave it out, taking down the runtime as well.
Separate to this, they didn't have an obvious opener and so Lars and James put together Hardwired in a hurry and it was short enough to fit on a single CD with the rest of the tracks. At this point they couldn't change the CD order from the plants to just one so the double album concept stayed regardless. I'm sure the packaging design being already done affected it too since they'd have to redesign it.

Yeah even though it hasn't been directly confirmed my assumption was in April the "final" tracklist was with LOS in place of Hardwired, but they probably had the artwork well on its way (I'm pretty sure there was originally a song on disc 1 and disc 2 that was swapped too when the tracklist was announced?)
That being said the CD design is super cool. I don't personally like the whole glitch fx face thing they did for it, but it was executed well, and the double fold out thing was a cool touch.

I'm pretty sure there was originally a song on disc 1 and disc 2 that was swapped too when the tracklist was announced? I did a search on wayback machine. The album and tracklist was announced on August 19 and looked like this:
Disc One
Hardwired Atlas, Rise! Now That We’re Dead Moth Into Flame Am I Savage? Halo On Fire
Disc Two
Confusion Dream No More ManUNkind Here Comes Revenge Murder One Spit Out The Bone
I can't say if you're correct or not because the tracklist presented Is the tracklist for the vinyl but not for the CD:

One song I've been spinning a lot lately is "The God That Failed".
Solid bassline kicks it off. The heavy, chugging slow guitars. So many punchy cymbal hits in the verse. Good lyrics. Fitting solo. Just a good fucking song.

Just a good fucking song. Yeah, one of my favourites. That and My Friend of Misery are the best on that album. Actually add Don't Tread on Me to that, a song that is greatly under appropriated.

ooooo that's interesting, I wonder why they swapped AIS? and DNM? Fits more to the concept of Classic Metallica and Experimental Metallica with exception of SOTB because it's a closer to the whole album. Am I Savage doesn't belong in the first part. Let's have a look: Atlas, Rise - midtempo Creep/Master type of song Moth - Disposable/Blackened type of song Dream - Thingy/Sad type of song Halo - Fade/Home/One/Day type of song while second album is: Confusion - TBA mixed with NWOBHM Am I Savage - Load/Reload style ManUNkind - 2x4 type of song Load Here Comes Revenge - new experimental Murder One - Load/Reload style

I agree Savage definitely belongs on the second disc. I like the song but it would still make the first half of the album drag. In my head I usually group the album as the 8 "main" songs (disc one, Confusion, and Spit) and then the 4 other ones, both because they're different and a bit lacking. It was nice to get more music after waiting so long, but a tight 8 song album would've been a cool return to that format.

Agreed. Sometimes less is more. They should have put out 8-9 of the strongest, and put out another Beyond Magnetic type of disc a year later while out on tour.
IMO, should have been this 👇
Moth into Flame Man Unkind Spit Out the Bone Dream No More Halo on Fire Am I Savage? Atlas Rise Confusion Hardwired
