That's pretty much what the album sounds like if you don't understand a word of English.

On the topic of Hardwired being a double album, it also counts as two album sales. I’d suspect that was the main reason, even though they wouldn’t admit it publicly. That, in addition to including an album for each ticket sale, sure bumped the numbers up.

Didn't they say they are making it mega super sonic so the files will be too big for a single cd? Or did i dream that?

I don't know anything about how this works, but, if 2 cds in a package counts a 2 'album sales', then how do vinyl releases, with often 2-4 records in it, factor in?

It's apparently a little difficult to find information on this, but double albums at least used to only count for twice the sales if they were over 80 minutes or over 100 minutes in the CD era. Some people are claiming this has changed and all double albums are now counted twice but I've found no information suggesting that this is actually the case.
Either way the misconception about double album sales being unfairly doubled still exists even for older records and especially double LPs from back in the day. AJFA was originally released as a double album for sound quality reasons but it was not counted twice, for example.

I miss HR, bring'im back!
Anyway, well, if Met aren't going to remaster the old video stuff, fans are already doing it for them anyway. I'd be surprised if they don't have people working on upscaling/remastering all their old videos to re-release right now. They should be.

Call me crazy but I hope new stuff sounds like the best songs in Garage Inc which are Astronomy, Loverman, Turn the Page and Tuesday's Gone blended with Black Album touch and "not so loud" snare. But it's just my opinion you know. They can do whatever they want, I'd listen to it.

Cunning Stunts is still about 80% cringe.
I still remember the first time I saw it...an edited version shown on Rage that I flicked over to by chance (it was also broadcast on Triple J here). It wasn't Load that made me feel like Metallica was a different band to Justice/Black/Live Shit, it was Cunning Stunts.
The posing, (the over the top macho BS, the guitar behind the head, the foot stomping, the "we don't give a shit", the 'tallica gives you heavy bay-bay), the awful awful vocals, the 50% speed tempos, the Leper Messiah jam, the fake destruction scene...everything was just over the top, like a caricature of what Metallica had been. It was peak douchey rockstar mid 90s Metallica and I hated it.
The sound and visuals were great however, and yeah the jam intro was cool.

Lars (and his drumkit) from 1996-2000 was my fave. The sound, how loose but tight he was. It was a real treat to see him drum live. He owned the kit like a boss. I wish he was like that now.

There are a lot of loose vids that have been upscaled, Cunning Stunts was just the one full show I've seen so far. There are loose songs here and there from Live Shit, I just didn't post those because I think they didn't turn out that well. Just search Metallica AI upscale remastered and have at it. Their old music vids have been done too.

Metfan41 has a trove of upscaled, digitized shows. His specialty is Metallica, but he has a bunch of Pantera shows and other bands. He'll take the soundboard audio and add it to bootleg VHS stuff that he has cleaned up and turned HD etc. Definitely check his stuff out on YouTube.

Gotta say, Hardwired has been out for a handful of years now, and Moth Into Flame is still one of my most played songs. It hasn't gotten old for me. In fact it's up there as one of my favorite Metallica songs of all time. It's thrashy but has a nice melodic edge to it, which I love. That's also how I would describe Spit Out the Bone, also an incredible song, but I think Moth Into Flame is better constructed overall.

If there were one new song that had staying power in the live sets for years and years it would be Moth. I used to think that about Cyanide but Moth beats it 10 times over. And to be fair Cyanide was the only DM song to stay in regular rotation for awhile.

Hardwired and Moth SHOULD stay in the sets, but no, we'll get Now that we're dead with the donkey Kong drums in the set until the end of time. Sometimes I hate this band😠😡🤬
