We all know the band will not play St. Anger in its entirety to celebrate its 20th anniversary so they are giving these goodies. Lol. |

Don't forget that SA was the start of video taping at HQ so I bet they have HUNDREDS of hours of footage that these 3 min clips aren't even scratching the surface. There'll be plenty of content for the SA box. |

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Load box might come out this year. Gap in touring.... new album cycle will have finished in terms of the product. Makes sense to deliver the Load box. Maybe. |

I just really hope my story gets in the book. I'm really proud of it and it's been collecting dust for 2 years now. I want to ask what it is but don't want to spoil it in case it is. So I'll wait. But me too, I hope your story gets in. I'm hoping some of my memorabilia gets in too cos that means a FREE box. I probably don't have a some hugely rare stuff like others but the one I'm hoping for is the news clipping from my local newspaper about the Load listening party. |

I'd bet when the eventual Metallica Vegas residency happens, they'll do it at The Sphere. First metal event there seems like something they would to too.

The contract is probably already signed. I'd say for 2025 after the 72 tour is done. It's like what, a 30 minute flight from HQ to Vegas? They could record during the week and go play shows on the weekend.
The U2 show is killing it and they keep adding dates, or will according to the radio station here. They're giving out tickets and $3,500 to get there.

I think at this point my Metallica fantasy is for them to do some sort of residency where they dedicate a month a year to each album, or some sort of theming to celebrate each of their records in the right setting. They're one of the few bands that I think could hit the achievement of playing *all* of their songs and at this point I can't think of much else I want to see them do.
I've gotten into Guns N' Roses a lot this year and it's made me so thankful that my favorite band has actually been able to successfully finish so many cool projects in my lifetime lol (sorry GNR fans)

72 Seasons was of course a recent highlight when it comes to Metallica music, but I honestly think the acoustic covers of Borderline and It's Killing Me were just as much of a treat. I listen to both of those regularly. Amazing performances.

Wow, there's a lot going on in terms of guitar work on Nothing Else Matters, let alone other instruments, the mixing, overall production and ambience. It's not suprising when it comes to the TBA or any other Bob Rock produced work, but still it's a thrilling experience to listen to and discover subtleties.
The intro with the way the guitar strings sound, and how they come and go, get lost and echo in the room create such as mesemrizing atmosphere I've never heard before; it's unique what Bob Rock and crew achieved on this album. The whole TBA, but this song in particular, is timeless. Surely James and Lars had the songs already, the content, but Bob made them shine in such a way that goes to prove how production and mixing can make the most of songwriting.
I wish the guys worked with him one last time, at least on an EP. It's ironic they ended their working relationship on such a disatisfactory note -- St. Anger...

I knew there were tons of overlaid guitars on NEM, but listening to that still made me go wow, that's a fucking ton. And James played literally every single one of them, that's fucking mental. This kinda rough-looking guy who was at the time mostly known for absolute downpicking prowess played all these intricate and frankly beautiful guitar parts and melodies. It's just like his dad said in the documentary, he really stepped up like mad in melodic playing on the Black Album.
And then you get that monstrous distorted tone and the wonderful solo. Fucking wow. Sometimes you just kinda forget for a while that he's one of the best rhythm guitarists of all time and when he decides to do a solo it doesn't exactly disappoint.

Ooooo, hadn't seen the content pages, thanks man. I bought one of those white Iron Cross's. I love it but its my only guitar with active p/ups and it is still strange to me that my guitar can run out of batteries

Had the EMG Het Set put into my guitar, left it plugged into the amp which was switched off, battery dead within a week doh. |
