I love Bob. I'd be over the moon if I got to hang with him for a day and just listen to all his stories. We had a contest here in Canada about 15 -16 years ago where you got to enter your song you wrote for the new Hockey Night in Canada theme song. I sent mine in and Bob was one of the secret judges. I was pretty stoked after finding out that. Bob sat down in a room and listened to my song with the other judges and executives. Pretty cool. He probably thought it is shit. Is it still cool now? I guess it was shit. I still think it would have been a cool intro song for Hockey, but yeah, 😅 www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/267954

I'd like for the band to work on an album, EP or a song with Bob Rock again. One last time. I once hoped for the band to have an album with multiple producers: Flemming, Rock, Rubin, Greg, Mike Clink, Butch Vig, Brendan O'Brien, Steve Albini, etc.
It's kinda of ironic and unfair their last work together was St. Anger. Bob is so good at helping James work out choruses, not to mention how good his albums sound overall.

It is not that bad. The ending is a bit sudden.

Speaking of this song, I think James should've left the talk box solo. I don't think the band has ever used one, has it? James' House That Jack Built solo! Is that confirmed as being James?

James' House That Jack Built solo! Is that confirmed as being James? I'm 99% sure I remember reading that in an interview about Load back in the day and how James was saying that the talkbox was too unstable to bring on the road.

I think I found a way to isolate the bass guitar on the rough mixes from the Justice box set. I'm playing with it now.

I don't care and didn't watch the video. But there's no denying it's pretty embarrasing. I know he's hot and sweaty, but I could play that shit in a deep cloud of weed at age 16

Its the so-simple-its-hard syndrome, and since hhe fucked it up it will probably play on his mind every time.
Obviously time for another fucking intro tape!

I've read on Blabbermouth that the new Metalli-podcast -- by the way, I've never checked any of them yet -- discusses the band's appearance on Power Trip; at one point he reveals Lars has been rehearsing prior to gigs for the last 4 or 5 years now and that it's a first. Really? I was willing to bet he was doing his homework in the '80s and most of the '90s.

If you're young and playing 100+ shows a year, you're gonna be in good shape, at least until age kicks in in your 30s. I think Lars is on record saying how much he hates playing drums by himself.

I really think Unnamed Feeling is good enough song for regular spot on set list.

By the way, didn't Lars take lessons from Satriani's drummer back in 1987 while writing/ gearing up to record the JUSTICE album?

Lol, well, the '80s at least. By the way, didn't Lars take lessons from Satriani's drummer back in 1987 while writing/ gearing up to record the JUSTICE album? Never heard of that, only kirk taking lessons from Joe Here's Kirk addressing that bit, tho he doesn't seem that sure about it: www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/kirk_hammett_explains_what_got_lars_to_make_drum_parts_on_metallicas_justice_complex_he_was_taking_lessons.htmlKirk Hammett Explains What Got Lars to Make Drum Parts on Metallica's 'Justice' Complex: He Was Taking LessonsThe guitarist also explains how drinking Jäger shared the record. (2020)
During an appearance on Let There Be Talk, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett talked about the band's 1988 album "...And Justice for All" and its well-known musical complexity.
Responding to the interviewer's remark that "Justice" is "really a prog-metal record," Kirk said when asked what the idea behind the album was (transcribed by UG):"And I think at one point Lars was taking drum lessons from Joe Satriani's drummer [Jeff Campitelli] and so he had just a whole new perspective and approach on his drums, and so we wanted to implement that musicianship into the sound, and that's what became '...And Justice for All,' basically."

I really think Unnamed Feeling is good enough song for regular spot on set list. I really don't think so. It's one of my least favorite Metallica songs. Definitely the worst song on St. Anger.

So from what Instagram tells me, it's a "PAPA HET" tatt on one hand, and he turned the F for his ex-wife's name on his other hand into "FORGIVEN" with a large cross. He also got an "A" behind his right ear for his new girlfriends name. Will be easy to fix that one when they break up, he can just get "B" put behind his other ear!

Way more Black Box content from the St. Anger era just got dropped! Really cool stuff too, especially some rehearsals of songs we otherwise don't have any video of outside of the rehearsal DVD. metallicablackbox.com/collections/20-years-of-anger/products/lars-favorite-setlist-2004Also, Lars's "dream" setlist from 2004 is nuts. Based on their sets from 2004, he definitely wasn't the be all, end all for set writing for that tour. Even though this set would've been nutty. 1. Frantic 2. St. Anger 3. Creeping Death 4. Master of Puppets 5. Justice Medley 6. For Whom the Bell Tolls 7. Fuel 8. Bleeding Me 9. Sad But True 10. Sweet Amber 11. Hero of the Day 12. Seek & Destroy 13. Battery 14. One 15. Enter Sandman
16. So What? 17. Motorhead Medley 18. Kill/Ride Medley
