They should have worn GoPros and alternated between members POV, in 3D! That would be hella cool to watch.

Just got back from the second cinema night. Boy it was rough. Doesn’t make sense to broadcast a show from USA where the crowds are non existing. 120.000 apparently didn’t know Roam. Wtf. First time I’ve heard that ending too, would have sounded massive in Europe. Other thoughts. - The aound shifted from song to song. If you didn’t know the faster stuff you would have no clue what was being played. Slower songs like Bells sounded HUGE. Amazing bass drum sound on those. - Kirk and Robs doodle was extremely cringey - Rob being “carried” through the crowd on some platform thing was also pretty bad. Leave that stuff to Rammstein where gimmicks like that works - There were so many mistakes that I stopped trying to notice them, but it was impossible. I think this is the first time I really felt that they cannot control the fast stuff anymore. They were not anyway near the pocket, they weren’t even in the same pair of pants. Which makes me a little sad. It’s understandable though, I wouldn’t wanna try and play Ride, Whiplash etc with my mates at age 60. Actually it’s pretty impressive that they can more or less keep up in 2+ hours. - The energy dropped sooo fast when they played Dirty Window, and it was completely gone through 72 seasons and Darkness. You can straight out tell that James doesn’t understand why the crowd is not going nuts for Darkness. That one does not translate well live. - Burn does that in spades though. The crowd was really into it. Until they completely screwed up and left out an entire section. They played only that section afterwards and laughed it off 😂 Highlight of the show for sure. - Kirk played rather good I think. Although he once again missed basically the whole Fade solo. I have no idea what he played but it sounded pretty good to be fair - Rob sounded quite impressive at times, but mostly he sounded like himself. - Lars is barely hanging in there, I love is energy and he surprised me a few times. The fast stuff is getting hard on him - James sounded. A little thin. His rhythm was tight though, but that was to be expected. - The stage. I still hate it. And for sure the great distance between them at times are making room for extra errors. All in all a decent night where the guy with the hardest job once again was the sound tech. Night one blew night two out of the water. And the MetLife shows blew both of these shows out of the water, the exception being the first four songs of Friday which were this iteration of Metallica at their very best.
I have a sneaking and sad suspicion that M72 is the sendoff for a lot of the faster thrashy stuff. I'm expecting a format change to their shows in a few years.

I think the 2024 run will be much different. I'm just glad they didn't open with the instrumentals this round. Even in the middle of the set they are kind of boring live. RTL should be retired. I'd love Halo to return in place of Moth or Hardwired. Day should also get swapped out with EOTL or Cyanide, it just gets too messy towards the end, even on the World Magnetic tour I felt like that. Creeping Death can stay. MOP always seems on point, it's just a bit boring now a days. I'm debating catching the shows in Massachusetts or Alberta next summer. Massachusetts is way closer to me, but I'd need a passport so I'd have to get on that ASAP. But I'm not going to do the trek if the sets are pretty much the same as this current leg.

I think I'm locked for Sunday in Massachusetts next year. Not sure I'll be able to go the Friday but also not sure if another two night stand is worth it to me. Especially depending on how much the sets are changing.

I’d love to hear SA the way the SKOM single version sounds

I’d love to hear SA the way the SKOM single version sounds That remix is perfect sonically. I wish it didn’t cut out the outro though. My dream is they have a whole album remix of that in the vault, just waiting for the box set to release it.

I've noticed (from AUD recordings) the double bass has been inaudible since the last few shows in Europe. Some put it down to the FoH engineer, as if he did something wrong with the triggers set-up. Even Mike Gillies commented on it on his IG.

It's very noticeable during One, when Lars is in the spotlight. Up until the last few dates in Europe it was heard loud and clear, then it just vanished, barring the cinema show, in which it can be heard a bit better but not as crisp as usual.

All the mistakes, fuckups, and shit seem to be doubled from last year. I don't think it is age-related, I think stage setup is messing with them.

Compare the openers playing on that stage versus Metallica playing on that stage. They don't like it. James is the only one who consistently moves away from the small metaphorical circle around whichever drum kit is out.

The stage is too big, there's no real atmosphere created, smaller venues would be better.

D'you guys remember that guy on the old official forums who was obsessed with the Presidio sessions? He was "postwhoring" the boards with his YT vids. He went under different handles. He was funny and persistent too. The good old times...
