It took them (over) 6 years between Hardwired and 72S, less than what had taken them between DM and Hardwired (it was 8 years). Who knows... What if they put out an album in 2026?

I know I said this after Hardwired lol, but more new music feels like a solid possibility in the next few years. They seem to want to heavily dial back shows gradually over the next couple years, and recording is what I really hope they hone in on more.
Still feeling a covers album in the next couple years.

A Metallica cover used to be a thing of beauty. I can live without them now. The last one I remember is Remember Tomorrow.

They should cover some Manowar. They have some really epic songs that would be awesome. Swords in the wind or Heart of steel or something.

"There's no shortage of ideas in this band."
Rob's go-to line. It really does not matter how many ideas you have if you make albums every 7-8 years.

I think we should've already learned that Rob and Kirk rarely have anything relevant to say, especially if it's not new album season. When something of consequence is said in an interview or whatever, it's either Lars or James, usually Lars these days. Rob and Kirk interviews are usually just zero information filler.

I didn't like the When A blind Man Cries one and even forgot it existed. Ronnie Rising was pretty meh. I wasn't a fan of the arrangement. They used to do medley's a lot better.

Didn't really like Ronnie Rising, no, but that's just because I think Ronnie James Dio is fucking overrated as fuck. I don't rate him highly at all. It would've been much better if they just covered Kill the King and forgot about the others. But I'd rather they just didn't cover anything by Dio at all. I literally forgot the Blind Man cover existed. I've only listened to it maybe once or twice.

It's fucking Rainbow, featuring Ronnie James Dio on vocals.

I meant Dio as in Ronnie James Dio the person, not Dio the band, dumbass. "Anything by Dio at all" sure doesn't fucking sound like "anything Dio ever sang on" to me, but alright. Rainbow is and always will be a Blackmore outfit as evidenced by Dio exiting the band and it still continuing on after that but I suppose reducing it to something entirely the product of Ronnie James Dio makes it easier to dismiss it on the basis that you dislike the singer.

Dio sang on those songs, so what's the problem? I think you're reaching here..

I can't help if you understand my meaning wrong. That's a you problem. Besides, the songs on Ronnie Rising are sung by Dio (that is Ronnie James Dio, not Dio the band, to make it clear for you), so it should be pretty clear I was just talking about RJD here.
But to be honest, Rainbow is pretty mediocre regardless of the singer. I've never found it interesting or exciting. It's just... Bleh.
Now there are a few things with Dio I like. Mob Rules is a good song, and Dehumanizer is a really good album. But other than that... Nah. Dio (the band) is absolute garbage, and Heaven and Hell is an overrated, below-average album.

I think it's worthwhile to specific rather than vague and I don't need your input on it, thanks. It doesn't even make sense to me since Dio didn't write the music to those songs, Blackmore did. And even then, it's not like it matters since either way I genuinely think dismissing anything Dio sang on like it's worthless qualifies for one of the worst opinions I've read in on these boards in a while.
Specifically Dio, the band, or Rainbow? I could see that. That's fair. You don't like a band. But honing in on the vocalist solely, as if he somehow makes everything he contributed to bad? Get outta here.

Well, you posted while I was revising my post, but I can respect this. That's fine. That's also way more nuanced than Metallica ought to not touch anything by Dio. I still think it's a bizarre take for various reasons but it's also not an outright dismissal so it's not a particularly controversial statement in my book. I mean, you're wrong, but opinions are like assholes etc.

Its a rainbow period.
Also, Rainbow Rising is amazing, as are plenty of other songs not on that one. Dio is not my favourite singer but you cant dismiss his legacy. Heaven and Hell has some great songs and kept Sabbath alive. There is a reason that Dio tribute exists and bands like Metallica wanted to contribute
