Reading the Metallica "discovery" comments on the MOP clip from Lollapalooza is a riot. Good see the youngsters appreciate something bigger than Travis Scott and all that garbage TicTocky stuff, but it's still amusing to see their gears in action. I don't mind noobs saying they like Enter Sandman; it's a good song. |

I just watched the concert in Werchter, Belgium on youtube.
The show was good but the setlist sucked.
14 songs of 30 years (or older) old.
1 song of 20 years old (and a bad one at that). Dirty Window is not a good choice.
1 song of 6 years old (and again not the best one) They chose Moth into Flame.

Halo on Fire should replace one of the older ballads. Throw in a DM song (other than Cyanide) add one or two from load and reload (not fuel).

I'm watching S&M2 on youtube right now (actually I'm not watching, just listening). The concert is good I guess but I'm so dissapointed with the setlist again. I'm constantly thinking: I've heard this before ... 20 years ago.

I'm constantly thinking: I've heard this before ... 20 years ago. Being there was incredible to experience S&M in person, but the release really isn't worth too much. It was definitely an in person event, not so much specifically for a live album like the first one was. I get the staples but I really wish Orion, Unforgiven (honestly would've been the best time to play the trilogy in order), or anything from AJFA besides One was played. |

Even seeing it in the cinema, knowing James was in back in rehab, kind of stole the enjoyment away. I got the Blu-ray/live album thing as a Christmas present back in 2020 and watched it while over at my parents house and they had this exact same thought. James looked like a drunk bum you might run into outside the convenience store. It's not just that he was drinking and not feeling good about himself, but the hair and horseshoe stache exacerbated just how tired he looked. Definitely feels like one of those things were I'm glad he pushed through and they did it, but all the same... maybe they shouldn't have released the video at all and just left it as a live album. |
