16 song set last night in Florida. Looks like that format is here to stay. I’d really love an instrumental or even an extended Rob solo to fill up more space but given their age I’m happy to still hear them sounding great. I wonder if they’ll do more in San Fran.

What is this 'Black Box'? Another Black album money grab boxset? I wish the band would (also) put their energy into making new music.. All there seems to be these days are merch-related news, tribute albums, live shows, past songs being reworked... Their last studio album of original material came out 5 years ago... It may not take them 8 years to put out another album this time, but c'mon... 5 or 6 years is still quite a bit. They aren't getting any younger. Rant over. |

I still don’t quite understand what this is supposed to be. A new website, with exclusive digital content, some of it paywalled, and a hugely overpriced online store selling memorabilia? Is that what this is?
Why make a new website and create a full marketing campaign about it? Why not create a new folder in the images section and the store on Metallica.com?
This seems like Met Club | Metallica.com with extra steps.

Also re: new music. It's crazy to think the band have been around 40 years, their first 5 albums were made in their first decade, the remaining 5 have been spread out over literally the last 30 years.

Being a fan of this band is so disappointing at times. Not a fan of their recent initiatives. It really does seem like money grabs. What the fans really want is new music - it's been five damn years since Hardwired. They always love to say there's no shortage of riff ideas, but that amounts to absolutely nothing if we never see them.
