Hoping it's as good as the original. My favourite part is gonna be when he says "it's juicin' time", and beetles his juice all over everyone.

Dune, like IT (clown book) and many others is impossible to adapt into a movie. Both books are amazing and they have that in common that every movie made sucks donkey balls compared to the books. Yes the new Dune movies are pretty but that’s it, the book(s) are so much more interesting in every aspect.

Watched The Vanishing last night ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Vanishing_(1988_film)) Very good. Pretty slow build but an excellent piece of examination of the nature of balance. Recommend it! Having never read Dune, I thought the movies were great but I'm sure they don't match up to the books. They never do. IT is a good example. Also, The Shining.

Actually, the movie Kick-ass is way better than the graphic novel. The arguement that it is not a book starts right ... now!

I haven't seen the second Dune film yet but thought the first one captured the first half of the book quite well...but its been a while since I've read it. Got the sequels here too on my list to finish.

Watched Apocalypse Now (Theatrical (standard) version) the other night. Only took us 4+ decades to catch up. Lived up to the hype.
Has anybody watched the Redux or "longplay" versions ?
I'd like to see the making of film too but I dont have the means at the moment.

I recently watched the ultimate 25 hour version or whatever that was, redux? It was awesome. So many rich deleted scenes.

I recently watched the ultimate 25 hour version or whatever that was, redux? It was awesome. So many rich deleted scenes. Apocalypse Now (redux) Ooooo a whole extra hour of footage. I can't remember ever sitting down and checking this version out. I really enjoyed the extra scenes. I did not pull me away from the story which many claim it does. What a fucked up war. I love my 'Nam movies, and this one is by far perfect, along with Full Metal Jacket and Platoon, amongst others. I guess I'll have to watch Platoon now. We were Soldiers with Mel Gibson is another great Vietnam war movie. Gory AF, but a lot of drama before their boots touch down for combat.

I've seen all those war movies so many times since I was a kid, only as a young adult did I begin to appreciate film making and the art of it, so I'd go back and check out all those movies again but with a newer/ wiser perspective. Wasn't just about the pew pews any more. Lots of those films have so many layers to them, back when storytelling was an art.

Barbie: I bought it on blu-ray for my daughter ... ok, I bought it for me because I'm secretly in love with Margot Robbie. My daughter didn't care for it at all, she didn(t get it (but those are people, not dolls). She fell asleep during the movie but I had the time of my life

The Legend of Tarzan: not bad ut not very good either. 6/10. It is NOT the story we all know. I'd loved seeing him growing up among apes, living in trees and swinging around, meeting Jane and wear nothing but leopard skins (Jane, not Tarzan). But in this movie, Tarzan already is in the civilized world and goes back to Africa because he got an invite from Belgian king Leopold. The movieis about diamonds and slavery and is more or less historically correct. Yes, the Belgian king Leopold was involved with slavery ... But my biggest problem with this film is ... are these people Belgians? (their ship is called 'Adelaar' which is Dutch for 'Eagle') So if they are Belgian, why are they speaking English? Probably because it is an American movie and most 'mericans are to lazy to read subtitles.
A big plus for this movie is Margot Robbie. But then again, no leopardskins. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

This is heartbreaking to watch, but very intriguing and we'll put together. About the Hamas massacre at the Nova music festival, and all the horror from that day.

Rampage: this movie gets a bad rep but I love it Grab some pop-corn, M&M's, potato ships, cookies, Skittles, a Mars bar, chocolate, a Twix, a Snickers, gummi bears or whatever floats your boat, sit back, kick your shoes off, relax, put your brain in the 'off' position and enjoy the movie. Live, die, repeat: Absolutely love this one. Best sci-fi movie ever. Except for T2 ... and probably T1.

Clubrooms were divided in 2 by temp wall, one half for the film and kids, the other half for us and the bar. Except they couldnt sort the sound out so our side had the soundtrack blasting while we tried to hold convo, and with no visual. There was lot of WTF is going on in there.
