We are halfway thru Boy Swallows Universe on Netflix. Pretty awesome so far, keen to finish it up tonite. Its about 2 brothers growing up in 80s Australia in a fucked up family environment. ie. Mum uses, stepdad deals, real dads an alco. I've put it in my list on Netflix. I hope it doesn't suck. |

Clocking in at around the three hour mark it is waaaaaaaay too long. I realise some scnes are long to show off the visuals but it gets old really fast. After a while I was rooting for the bad guys just to get it over with.
Storywise it is a bit better then the first one ...
Sorry James but this gets a 6/10 from me.

I have watched (in the past few weeks) every Fast and Furious movie in order (except 9 because it strangely enough isn't on Netflix).
1 and 2 are pretty good. Fast cars and hot women ...
3 is shit
4, 5, 6, 7, 8 are just action-packed action movies.The action scenes are really exaggerated though but fun to watch.
10 is supposed to be the last movie in the franchise. A worthy closer to the stories ... NOT!!! It has an open ending. The story of the movie isn't even finished. The bad guy is still alive. We never find out what happens to Dom's team. Their plane crashes but are they dead or did they survive? Another member of the team is on Antarctica and escapes from a Blacksite prison. She gets picked up by Gal Gadot in a submarine. Where did she get that thing?
It is a long movie (2h20min) and leaves the viewer with so many questions. I enjoyed it but it has a really stupid ending. The action is so exaggerated it is not even funny. You can easily spot the CGI.

The new Transformer films have been ok i suppose, great special effect but lacking in storytelling. Tbh i used to be a fan of Transformers as a kid (the cartoon/figures/sticker album) and it's a bit of a nostalgia trip. In terms of Planet of the Apes the reboot has worked but still prefer the 1968 original film to anything they've released so far. |

TMNT Mutant Mayhem
Super fun to watch. The animation style is really refreshing, and has a weird comic book meets reality vibe. Lots of pop culture references and funny gags and the main story arc is solid.
Damsel
The girl from stranger things is a princess sacrificed to a dragon. The visuals are phenomenal, it is really beautiful to watch. The story feels like a videogame with side quest adventures as she makes her way through this mountain cave system to escape. Some really dark and gory stuff.
Also a cool watch.
