Yep :(
this Chelsea-Utd match is closer than the result indicates, but you can't get away with lousy defending really. Chelski are making their blocks and interceptions and United aren't.

well forget about that. Instead of retaining shape and just putting Mata in the 10 position, Mourinho skinned the team open. Pathetic.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the continued struggles of Man Utd (although having de Gea as my FF goalie takes a little shine off). I was a bit worried when Mourinho came in but their squad is bang average.

I was a bit worried when Mourinho came in but their squad is bang average. Your squads in the last few seasons aren't anything to write about either, but there was that season where a genuine world class player (Suarez) lifted you to contender status, and you've been doing okay with a proper manager Klopp (even made an European final last season). So, United too could be better worked properly, even if there's some lack of spine.

True, there were quite a few other factors working in our favour that season too (no mid week European footy, teams like Utd and Chelsea bedding in new managers, a lot less media scrutiny and pressure). Sturridge and Suarez were the most prolific strike partnership in Europe iirc, and the likes of Sterling, Coutinho and Henderson were thriving.
I do agree Utd could be doing better. Bang average was probably underselling them a bit, but there does seem to be less quality than in Ferguson's years. Generations of fans who've grown up with nothing but successful, attacking football doesn't help either when Mourinho is playing defensive, shit on a stick football. I think what we're seeing at Utd could be similar to what happened to Liverpool in the early '90s.

Plus, the players they have who were talked about being potential class (Memphis, Martial, Pogba, Rashford) are years removed from the stage where they'll be consistent performers.
Smalling, Jones, Fellaini, are wastes of space and Rooney is a squad player at best now.

I can't believe this fella will win the Ballon d'Or... What a team player
Dunno what he is trying to do here, but it looks dumb as hell

Yeah people from older generations still have that attachment to international football so since Ronaldo won the Euro he's automatically the greatest this season.
And Suarez is never talked about for contention even though his striking rate since joining Barcelona is ridiculous.
Messi reached the Copa America final and performed really well there but his team didn't win so he'll be overlooked too.

It should be Suarez, he had an insanely good year last season, good enough to have a realistic claim at being the best in the world. Shitloads of goals and assists, won the league and domestic cups (as well as shitty no mark trophies like the Super Cup and Club World Cup).
Sadly reckon it'll be Ronaldo, not only for the Euros but for the CL victory as well.

Exactly, and Ronaldo was mediocre in both tournaments, it's ridiculous

What about the Spanish league you tool?

Suuuure..top of the league and the team already assimilated some of his trademark movements. 99% of teams would love that crisis.

To be fair, losing againt Tottenham in the PL, against Barca in the CL and ManUtd in the League Cup, all of them away isn't a shame at all, but if you draw against Everton and Southampton at home, then you should worry a bit but you can't speak of a crisis.

Devastating going forward. 30 goals in 11 games. I don't think we'll have anyone get close to 20 league goals this season, but it doesn't matter. I'm confident Mane, Coutinho and Firmino will get 10-15 each, with the likes of Lallana, Milner (with pens) and maybe Sturridge getting 6-8 each. There's no one with a huge goal scoring burden as it's shared out between the team.
Goals against is a problem however. Only one clean sheet in the league, and that was against a Utd side who had little interest in offering us any kind of problem. I think that'll be our downfall and why we won't win the league (like that season under Rodgers). Chelsea look to have overcome their hiccup and I think they're a good shout for the title.

Madrid's gameplan is bomb balls forward and hope linesmen don't notice offsides? How can they be this crap and lead the league?

Dortmund 8-4 Legia Warsaw. Mental scoreline. Have to wonder if there were any dodgy dealings going on around this match.

Dortmund 8-4 Legia Warsaw. Mental scoreline. Have to wonder if there were any dodgy dealings going on around this match. Dortmund has made a fantastic effort in the offense plus Reus came back after an injury and scored instantly three goals (and I'm saying this as a Schalke fan). They were not so good in the defense and Legia just never gave up like in previous CL matches.
