I fell asleep mid-concert and was convinced they closed with a new song that was acoustic and called Death Magnetic. Lolz.

How many times have you played mop Lars? Jesus He probably forgot to play the original ending because he was used to play the extended outro which they did on the European leg of WorldWired.

Sad But True world premiere Duude, they debuted Sad But True? Shiit. Must've sounded heavy with their new guitars, amps, and new purple drums. It probably works better now since James is sober and Lars has a scaled down kit. That white kit that he had in the early 1990s would've sounded good playing that song. Nah. Only took them 26 years. Geez.

That mix is unlistenable to me.

So nothing now until February. Crazy to think that we’re 1 year into the album’s touring cycle. Still feels like it hasn’t really started yet, or only just has with the European indoor shows.

Sadly I think that's how it's going to be from now on, and probably less and less as time passes.
I've been getting into a lot of other bands to take over my "addiction" to Metallica because I know it's getting to that point where age is becoming a big factor. Lars recently said in five years we should have a new album, and honestly I'm tired of waiting and that's probably a "if everything goes right" type of scenario so it could be even longer.
I'm happy they are still playing and like checking out the videos but my interest has really dropped as of late.

Other bands (almost every band) can tour in 3 years and make an album at the same time.

You're asking why they won't make another album within next 5 years or why we think that whey won't? If the first one, well that's the question for Lars. If the latter that's because we have the experience of following this band in this century. In the ideal scenario Peter Mensh or Cliff Burnstein would come to them and said "look guys in 2020 you will be approaching 60 if you want to make a record maybe in would be wise if you came an hour earlier before every single tunning room and try to connect some riffs or when you've got 3 months of break maybe take 2-3 weeks and meet in the HQ and try to write at least 1 demo song, that way when the tour is over you may have 5-7 skeleton songs". But we all know that neither Mensh or Burnstein is their boss and they won't do shit in terms of creativity for the upcoming years. This is how they operate. After this tour in 2019 or whenever they will start from absolute zero. Maybe with eventual complete one year off to 'recharge batteries' from the extensive tour.
You guys know that it is you that changed right? Because they are not doing anything worse than what they were doing during DM tour. They made better album than most people expected from them and they're playing the shit out of it. Het is in much better form than he was on world magnetic tour as probably is Lars. They're playing some obscure songs too. And the cover spot is the same as it was back then.

For those interested, there are a bunch of new Tuning Room videos up that include 30-60 snippets of the band playing songs like Am I Evil, Dream No More, Spit Out The Bone, Blitzkrieg Until It Sleeps. Also included there are about 12 complete versions of Hardwired, because that’s definitely what we all want.

That was supposed to say “30-60 Second snippets” sorry. As in like the 2003 days where they start playing a song, and just as they get into it, the video transitions to them joking about something then launching into another, unedited, complete version of Hardwired.

It still blows my mind that Sleepz isn't in rotation. They pulled it out for a few 2008 shows but that's the only time they've ever played it with Rob. And I'd say it's one of their biggest songs. James played it acoustically that one time a few years ago and they all weren't totally lost jamming it, so it makes me hope it's still on their mind.

Lars did seem serious in that video when asking about how long it would take them to pull that together to play on stage. Hetfield joked it off though. Maybe we’ll see it next year.

That means Lars has to break out his ride cymbal though, that's gonna be tough for him to do hahaha. I think they will, and I hope they play it if they ever come to the States again. I would love to hear that live.

Nice, both of your shows are at the very end of the leg. They should be in top form. The first few shows are always a bit clunky.
What is the one song you guys are dying to hear?

Of the new ones: Gotta say Moth into flame. Of the old (more or less likely) ones: The Call of Ktulu. If I can dream: The Outlaw torn.

I like how purple is basically the official HTSD color now, despite the cover art not having any on it.
