That Day performance was awesome. I love watching them play that song, killer energy the guys always seem to have a ball playing it. Yeah especially at the end, they sure were fooling around a lot. What is that metal high five they were doing? Awesome.

They are ending Master differently now. Starts at 1:49:18.

It's cool. In Copenhagen and at the first show in Amsterdam it was a clusterfuck. They changed it up for the second show and it has been that way since then.

Checked them out now. First Amsterdam show didn't seem bad?

Listened to the Copenhagen show today, my god Kirk was all over the place. Same with Lars. It was actually hilarious to listen too at times.

I love "Wolf". Currently my favourite song from TBA. Hope they play it in Manchester.
Disappointed to see a cover song slot to be honest. As much as I enjoy a lot of them, at this stage they've got ten albums and a few other songs to pick from, and it feels like a waste.

That's a cool diddy to end Master. I love it being the main set closer, I feel like it's so much more fitting. All in all, I think their current Master/Sandman ending is so much better than Seek/Sandman or Sandman/Seek, which was the most overdone thing the band has done in their sets.

Lol that comment section is so funny because you read it and remember some people still aren't over Jason leaving 16 years later.
And for the record, Rob's backing vocals are now perfectly fine for what he needs them for nowadays. He's obviously been practicing. He's never going to sing lead on a song, but he's obviously put a ton of work into them, considering I HATED them a few years ago.

The only complaint I have about this setlist format compared to the WM Tour, is that WM had more surprises at the end of the set, whereas the back-end of the current format is predictable.

If they rotated 'Bellz' slot instead of having it as a staple and change the order of the songs, the setlist would have the same structure that the 2009's WM tour setlists had.

I'm not Lyon, that was a good performance. I like James's boots. Reminds me of the Load days but in a good way. Also yeah totally agreed on Rob's vocals. The more sing-y parts he's still not exactly masterclass at but it doesn't matter that much in a band like Metallica. IMO getting the growls down is far more important since it adds much needed weight to the delivery, like seen here. I mean it'd be great to have someone who could properly harmonize with James's voice but at the same time, Rob is a goddamned bass monster, so who cares?

But I agree with your assessment. He is pretty good at harmonizing during some songs. He adds just enough to give a layering effect but not enough to overshadow James' voice, which is something that Jason did that I didn't really care for. His growls are really good now. He's right where he needs to be, and I'm very happy that he is constantly trying to improve his weaker aspects.

Jasonic doesn't get enough respect. His live backing vocals were the primary reason for Metallica's success post 1986 after Metallica lost Cliff and used up all the ideas Dave Mustaine had written.

That's one of my favorite Wolf performances in recent memory. Both James and Rob killed it.

There's probably 2-3 covers that I wouldn't mind hearing, of which "Astronomy" is one. I guess it's more the fact that the slot is dedicated solely to covers, when they've got a ton of gems in their catalogue they could be pulling out.
