James is starting to look like every family member that you've never met at the family reunion. That hair color.

This gigantic METALLICA in white across the stage reminds me a lot of what Led Zep did at 02 reunion

That really sucks. And it's not like there is a show in a few days the next city over to fix this guy up.

Oh shit....did you guys see this? https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/6u91lu/my_view_of_metallica_from_the_handicapped_section/ Poor dude, thats just not good enough. I attended a few events with my cousin who was confined to a chair fulltime and needed a 'carer' and most times viewing and access to things were reasonable to good. These guys already have it tough enough trying to attend shows like a rock concert so to end up behind a wall of dicks is a shitty deal. I sometimes thought to myself whether I would have the drive in me to try and see a band if I was in his position because it is difficult and there is a vulnerability too. EDIT - reading more from that link and it seems this guy suffers from what killed my cousin. Also, those seats look average even for the guys standing up.

Stadium shows are designed to cram as many people in as possible with no thought given to actual customer experience.
I've said it a million times, you're better off staying home and watching a live DVD.
For some reason people love going to stadium shows and staring at the back of people's heads or backs, occasionally getting a look at the people on stage who you just have to assume are the band because they are the size of ants as they're about 3km's from your shitty seats, while you listen to horrible sound delayed instruments through a heavily distorted PA because it's not designed for loud music.
Somehow these poor guys had it even worse.
Really sucks for the amount of money tickets cost.

So is there a reason this video got the thumbs and comments disabled?

These days a simple comment section can quickly spiral into a left vs right shit storm. I'm sure they didn't want to taint the celebration of the final show with all that crap, especially since James goes on about stuff like "we don't care what you did yesterday" and all that. I can just imagine some assholes taking that statement and running with it.

Did anybody see U2 when they were on their 360? I wonder if an in the round stage like that would be better or worse than an end stage in a stadium.

I'd rather see an in the round show any day if I had crap seats, who wouldn't? But, a lot of these Metallica shows have been in open air venues as well. They would need 2 stage set ups, which I imagine would be a headache to manage with the "spectacle" size of the shows they went for. Stadiums suck for concerts, it should be banned.

Most often it's great in my experience if you have standing tickets and are willing to stand in a queue for some hours. I've managed to get to a spot behind the people at the barrier and the sound has been great and I've been noticed by the artist (in my case Bruce Springsteen) so for me it's been great most of the time. That being said I realise it's of course a different situation for people who are in a wheelchair.

I thought the sound was really good at the show I went to, and I was far away. The only time I noticed it being bad was when Lars used his kit at the end of the snake pit.

I saw Metallica in an indoor arena, I think if you are going to see a high tier band like that play, if they indoor arena's that's the place to see them. Stadiums are only good if you are in the front row, but even then you are like 50 feet away from the stage and the stage is like 50 feet higher due to those security measure they take nowadays. When I saw Metallica was going to play near me in Baltimore at M&T Stadium, I was like 1.) Stadiums are meh, don't want to deal with those crowds 2.) It's Baltimore...no thanks.

There was a reason I got to the show in Baltimore super early. I got good parking at the stadium. The guy next to me had to park/walk to the inner harbor. Would you walk on the streets of Baltimore at midnight? I know I wouldn't. Fuck that. Driving through Baltimore at midnight is not a fun experience either. Lol. Especially when you are drained from a show like that.

I like both outdoor and indoor gigs, there's nothing better than going to a rock concert in May with the boys. Sun, cold beers and amazing music, what's not to like.

What do you reckon Metallica does with their massive stages after a tour?

They used to store all kinds of stuff like the Justice statue in a warehouse before they had HQ. Now a days, I don't know. They must keep the meat of the stage somewhere, they still have the full arsenal stage stored somewhere they have said. Maybe they put an ad on Craigslist? $10,000,000 used stage for sale?

From Steffan's North America tour wrap up. So are they planning different stage than the February Copenhagen gigs?

Is it too much to ask to just have the band come out and play a bunch of cool, varied songs?
Personally I don't want some big production that's choreographed. I don't need fancy lights or screens or lasers or giant toilets that push the boundaries of what can be done on a tour. I just want them to play songs like Disposable Heroes, Bleeding Me, ...and Justice For All and a few of the new ones.
