Is it because you know I'll never be able to love "Atlas, Rise!" as much as you do?

They haven't played Ain't My Bitch in about 19 years, that jam was really cool to hear. Would love to see that appear in the set from time to time.

wow they're really quick with the video and audio on this tour. Holy shit that guitar sound. Sounds to me like they mixed the Justice sound with the Black album tour sound and fed it through their monitors or whatever they prefer now. /totallyagutiarexperthere

Sounds like their live sound. Make no mistake, Metallica's live sound is and always has been incredibly immense.

They had to cut Halo and NEM tonight due to rain. But they still had time for Kirk and Rob to play I Disappear, and to do the drum solo in Dead. Why.

Thought the show was good last night but not really in my top 5 for times I've seen them. The stage was totally cool, loved the flames 👍. The house was packed. Wish they would have cut out Sad, "Do you want heavy!!!" made me cringe. I don't think Kirk screwed up, but Lars missed a beat. I only felt a few sprinkles before they just walked off the stage didn't even know what was happening for a minute there, but was just in time to see the end of the basketball game. Lines for merch were way to long but got a great shirt. I'd show pics but my seats were shit for club seats I didn't get 1 good shot. Fun time still had.

They just walked off? Really? That sucks. Yeah, just left didn't say anything then a pause for a few seconds and the crowd was like WTF then they put up the lightening thing on the board everybody got up and waited on concourse, then all hell broke I didn't even get wet until I sat down and swear nobody left.

Well, that new monster stage must be quite the lightning rod. Better to be safe.

75920374th One performance but with double bass. I love the comments in these videos, they're always like "Omg! Lars has been practicing!". What they don't realize (which I kind of understand since most of them are casual fans) is that the reason he sounds good right now is that he just started a new tour and finished recording an album, so he has been sitting at his drum set for a good part of a full year right now which out much breaks in between. Just wait until early next year when they tour Europe or wherever, he'll be a bit more drained and it'll show in his playing. Just look at the the end of the Death Magnetic tour in 2010. Also, a really good well mixed sound helps him sound better haha.

No one commented on this performance? May be the best version of the song since the 90´s...

It's a strong performance, but I can't listen to this song anymore after Lars changed the verse beat. It ruins the flow and I can't not focus on it. Lovely snare though

In the last few thank you videos, the crowds look kind of small. Huge seating sections are completely empty. Did they only sell field tickets at some of these shows? Or is this another Orionfest situation for some of these US dates?

Or is this another Orionfest situation for some of these US dates? All of the crowd shots with empty sections from the San Antonio video seem to be of when the crowd was just filing in to the stadium. Whenever there's been crowd shots with Metallica onstage it seems like they've come close to selling out every stadium.

I was 100% sure I was going to make the trek to see a second show on this tour considering it was my first time seeing them, but I couldn't find the money if I was going to see at least 15 songs twice. Don't get me wrong, seeing them was one of the best concerts of my life, but they notoriously don't do anything too dramatically different show-to-show in the US for some reason.

Dallas setlist:
The Ecstasy of Gold Hardwired Intro Hardwired Atlas, Rise! For Whom the Bell Tolls The Memory Remains The Unforgiven Now That We're Dead Moth Into Flame Wherever I May Roam Halo on Fire [followed by Kirk and Rob's solos incl. 'I Disappear' and 'Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)'] Motorbreath Sad but True One Master of Puppets Fade to Black Seek & Destroy
Blackened Nothing Else Matters Enter Sandman [with 'The Frayed Ends of Sanity' outro]
HELL YEAH!! Blackened and The Memory Remains!!! Pretty cool that they played Motorbreath, and I wouldn't be happy if they didn't play Wherever I May Roam! My first time seeing Metallica after being a fan for 20 years (since I was 10) and my god it was so good. My favorites were Blackened, The Memory Remains, Fade to Black, One, The Unforgiven, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Nothing Else Matters, and Enter Sandman. The low point was definitely Halo on Fire... they could have totally done without that one. Fuel or a full version of I Disappear instead would have been splendid.

I feel sorry for you guys over there, you always get screwed over. All the good shit always happens in Europe.
And btw, I've always defended their choice of set list but maaaan it's hard on this tour, so damn boring. By the time they hit Europe again they will start rotate the entire new album + rare shit into there shows.

Oh yeah arena tour + Europe is a really good combination :D Brings back memories of 09/10. Btw they jammed Life&Line yesterday in the tuning room. Lars had a blast, James looked annoyed "that's so 8 years ago".

I'm not surprised they have trouble remembering that, it was almost 10 years ago, which is crazy, because that was their previous album. Puts everything in perspective to how long it took them to make another album haha.

The set list is what made this a good show vs great show for me, they played well and the stage is great but the songs are the standard fm radio fare in the US that we hear all the time. 4 or 5 songs from TBA is 2 too many, they need to switch it up. Wondering if it's the length of songs that are determining the set.

I like the setlist in Dallas since it was my first time seeing them... for those who have seen them multiple times I can see how their setlist would be predictable and uninteresting. It's good for first timers though. They played most of the main hits I wanted to hear besides Fuel. Next time I'd like to hear Fuel and maybe some more from Master of Puppets.

Speculation here, but they have been rehearsing some load and DM songs, perhaps they are feeling the drag of these sets as well, getting ready to change it up as they do have many many more shows on the tour. A little variation like this, and I'd be super happy.
Hardwired Creeping Death Bells Moth into Flame Hero of the day Sandman One Cyanide Roam Puppets NEM Of Wolf and Man Halo on Fire Thingy Seek Spit out the Bone

Here it is webcast.livemetallica.com/?show=562If you're gonna need a link for the next gigs just change the number in the url to 563, 564, 565...and so on. It should be starting around 8 local time.
