Anyone else concerned at how little they know the song they wrote? It makes it glaringly obvious how much they are cut/pasting songs together. Nope. The album was finished May 2016 (sans the title track) meaning they probably haven't really played this song in at least a year, and that was recording individually, not together. It's a tough song, so they're just feeling it out when they're on tour. I'm sure they're going to actually listen and work it out before the next leg starts to at least have a good bearing on it. This really should be painfyully obvious for everybody, somehow it's not |

I may be late to the party, but there are a whole bunch of tuning room videos and live performances on Metallica.com. Not sure when they were posted, but some were pretty cool.

There you have it. Someone cut 14 minutes out of last nights tuning room stream of them practicing (of course) spit out the bone. Anyway yesterdays tuning room was awesome. They went for almost an hour (!). Many jokes, conversations and they jamed ain't my bitch, through the never, manunkind, murder one and teased revenge. After manunkind Lars said "you better learn all of them by Europe"

Of course the goddamn internet Metallica nerds' obsession with Spit Out the Bone live caused one of them to only post the section of the tuning room containing Spit Out the Bone instead of just posting the entire stream like a gentleman. It was probably yepsure. That bitching bag of fuck.

That Ain't My Bitch jam was pretty frakkin awesome to see. They made it nearly perfect until the chorus too. Granted it's an easier song, but I would love to see them whip that out one day randomly.
Also, thank you to whomever uploaded all of these tuning room videos. That pretty much quenched my thirst for the lack of regular tuning room videos ever since the HW era started.

It exists on youtube only because some dude that was watching decided to capture his screen. Now he's king of the metallica world online. Someone asked exactly the same question as you on the metallica forums and Dan replied that the band has no need to archive those streams since there is another camera that is filming it (the regular one that film tuning room sessions that we've been watching for all those years) and parts of it can eventually end up on metallica.com. Anyway if you log into metallica.com you can see that they are still uploading tuning room videos. Just with bigger delay. |

Maybe James will sing those parts with Rob and is\was just saving his voice. I hope so. Hetfield records the best vocal delivery of the last 25 years, only to let Rob mumble out half the verses. Fucking hell. Just let Lars sing it at this point. He'd pull it off better.
