No one's posting setlists anymore? Are you unaware of the tour section of the Metallica website?

Man I'm getting hyped by those thank you videos. They're really cool. I was just thinking the same. Life is so busy, the next few weeks are going to fly by. Giving out snake pit passes to all those people in the Nosebleed's is so cool. They must be so happy.

Being in the snake pit is something you won't forget.

Yeah that was so good to see. They were so happy. Heartwarming stuff.
But also, fucking hell those nosebleed seats are horrible. So far from the stage.
Fucking stadiums.

Great performance of Halo. Lars' drums sound incredible on these new mixes.

After years of pain and misery with the livemet mixes, we've finally reached that magical point where Lars's snare genuinely sounds great. I'm happy. It kinda sounds like he replaced the bigger china with another type one, because it sounds completely different from the main china now (he hits it once right around the end). If that's true then that's great too, I always thought the two chinas being the same type but slightly different size was idiotic since they basically sounded the same.

So the livemets sound good, are there any recent ones that are good performance wise?

Kirk actually nailed that solo in Ride the Lightning...with a out of a tune guitar of course.

Beautiful new guitar Kirk has. I noticed that last night :-)
I saw the guys for the FIRST time last night. It was amazing. Too many drunk assholes to count (that's Massachusetts for you... I hate to stereotype but the crowds are overwhelmingly more jerky at the shows I've been to in MA vs NY, CT, and RI) but Metallica was so loud and distracting I still had an amazing time.

We often give Kirk shit, but honestly it must be really damn difficult to play along with Lars, the tempo is all over the place in the fast sections. He goes way out and puts it back in place with a crash and every time he does that Kirk has to adjust his notes. I actually tried playing along to some live Metallica yesterday, both on drums and guitar, I don't know how these guys hold it together like they do.

I feel sorry for Rob. Dude's got it hard having to deal with Lars's unique understanding of tempo considering some of those bass lines do get a bit tricky, especially when playing with fingers.

I learned at the show that Rob has a hard time playing and singing at the same time. I was right next to his vocal mic for Now That We're Dead, and he got off pretty much every chorus. He was locked in tight most times though. I also learned that he uses an external speaker on his strap, I'm assuming to 'feel' the bass a bit more. He got way louder whenever he came by where I was standing. It was pretty awesome.

The Unforgiven was the first song I was really able to enjoy, because the crowd calmed down for that one and stayed a bit more timid after that. I now know that if I really want to watch the show I cannot be next to the stage haha. The new songs were honestly the highlights for me; Moth and Halo were both executed PERFECTLY, and I really think at least Moth is gonna be sticking around for years to come in the set. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed in the song selection, but that's merely personal preference; all of the rotating slots they played my least favorites out of the ones that typically go there (Motorbreath instead of Whiplash or Litez, Fight instead of Battery or Creep) but for my first show, I can't really be THAT picky. The setlister in me couldn't not notice though haha.

Damn, that intro thing into Unforgiven is pretty sweet! I have never heard it live, is it a new thing?
