Thanks for posting this, had a flick through it. Eye of the Beholder jam at 15:00 edit: re the sound. It sounds like Metallica in 2017. Kirks guitar out of tune for some of it. Hets guitar tone actually doesn't sound half bad in it, drums and bass sound good, better than LiveMet. Vocals hit and miss. |

Damn, James honestly sounds damn good to my ears on FWTBT and Battery. Looks like having a break in the middle of the tour before the US leg paid off, even if it means killing some of the hype behind it.

Just to add to this seeing as I know very little about it, and maybe some can enlighten me: Is it because of the state of his playing nowadays that his guitar sound sounds so bad, or is it tech-related? I mean, it's not the worst I've heard his sound, but it's starting to get annoying. |

That being said, based on Lars not remotely knowing the timing of the snare rolls in the beginning, I feel like they haven't quite tackled Spit yet.
A couple months ago I recall someone reporting that the band has been running through 10 of the 12 songs on the album. I speculate they're gonna wait a bit to debut Spit.

Those drums are hilarious. I like the idea, but it overstays its welcome. Most of the time they're just doing the same boring beat. It gets fun when James plays the actual song beat.

I like the drum idea but if it's going to be same beat every night , it's boring. Why not real drum battle between Lars and James?

Could be either, his hard tail guitars could be in tune but the way he holds the guitar/frets could be pulling the string up slightly when he plays. As for the floyd guitars, he could be leaning too hard on the bridge which knocks everything sharp. It's also possible they are all way out of tune to begin with, but considering how easy it is to tune a guitar I find it unlikely. |

I would rather not meet James, then pay top dollars to meet him knowing he doesn't want to be there and most likely hates me and doesn't give a shit about what I have to say. And I'm sure by now he's tired of people asking him about cars and tattoos.
When I met James on the Load tour, he was super chill and friendly, but you could tell he was just going through the motions and didn't want to be there.
Edit: then you'll see these truly loving moments from James like when that girl got to do the write up for So What last fall.
