Omega was vital yes and honestly I never would have thought that something like money would be the end of them. They just didn't seem to be that kind of band. I've seen them with every papa, I can't say which show was the best.

Allright. I think the only difference from your setlist to mine was Elizabeth. I hate you.. Btw. Their former drummer was MUCH better live than their current.

Current drummer was way more tight the two times I saw him. He also had a lot more oomph to his playing which was awesome.

He fucked up Stand By Him every single time I saw them because he was show boating throwing his arms up in the air. I prefer his style and sound 100x. The small setup made all the old songs sound so much better. The new drummer is good but his huge drum setup does not fit Ghosts sound

The new drummer is better for the new stuff, sounds better too. The band sounds a lot different these days and he fits them well.

I think Ghost and Papa has outgrown itself. Got too big and killed itself off. The best part of the ride was when the debut album dropped. Put it this way - I doubt James Hetfield would wear a Ghost tshirt today...they got a big kickstart from him wearing that shirt a number of years back I reckon. Its a shame but my interest has dropped off dramatically. Still love that acoustic If You Have hosts though

Where is it? That's twice in this thread. I just typed a long post here too about the new band formed by former members and how it connected with Ghost. I actually think the whole firing thing might be a ruse now. The band Priest was formed right after the firing rumors came out, and has multiple members of Ghost involved. Including a character named "The Puppetmaster" who people think is Alpha. Check out the end to both videos. Both bands have the symbols around their necks, both bands have that weird thing with the left eye being a different color, even the logos are similar. I honestly think we might be getting some sort of weird "paths come together" type of story with Ghost and this band. So many things are similar. Not to mention all of the nods within the Priest video to Ghost, 2:32 anyone? Many people on Reddit are talking about how the two bands might end up being connected in some way. It could be an awesome addition to the storyline of Ghost. They love fucking around with imagery and different meanings so I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. mmnrockandmetal.wixsite.com/mayhemofficial/single-post/2017/03/07/A-Band-to-Keep-an-Eye-OnThey are even referencing "Alpha" in interviews.

Papa wrote Opus, and he said the next album is going to be dark. loudwire.com/ghost-record-new-album-august/Drenched in death? Yes please. Another interesting thing going on, if the album is going back to those times where Papa I was present, is he going to come back? I posted about this a while back but then this interview came out. It would be really cool see the old man back.

Watched a livestream of the concert it is a new line up, but boy do they have some energy. Sound great as well. New Alpha and Omega are all over the stage. Love the little end to Square Hammer solo, sounds a little more bluesy.
Anyone know what kind of guitars they are using? Never seen one like that.

www.merinfo.se/foretag/Svensk-Drama-Pop-AB-5568338882/2k38ts2-l3cnAlso, if this is accurate then TF is speaking the truth. 2013 they lost 193.000 sek (~20.000€) and in 2014 and 2015 they only made around (after all the costs) 500.000 sek (~52.000€). And if you compare that to the initial income you can see that they've spent 9.000.000 sek since 2013 (~940.000€), In Sweden financial records are public, although the band more than likely has different companies in other countries. But based on these figures, the band is indeed "broke" and really doesn't have much money to give. Which backs up what TF is saying, which basically means the ex band members want money that simply isn't there. The lawsuit is pretty much ex members wanting TF to prove that the band is in fact "broke" which all sources point to that being the case.

Wow, nice clusterfuck. Wonder how they would have gotten on if they hadn't become so big Probably the same. If no money is coming in and they are touring all year bad shit happens. It happens to tons of bands, Ghost certainly isn't the first. Sadly it's the way the music buisness is now.

It's really fucking sad because I never thought a band like Ghost would end up like this, they always seemed above shit like that. It was a really nice ride with them, but throughout the last year something got lost which they will never reclaim.

Seriously though, does it really come as a surprise that Papa is the main man behind Ghost? He's pulling the strings like a tampon thief, and seems to have done that since the beginning. Yes, Omega was a big part, but let's check out the next album before we make any judgement on how it will affect the music. I don't think it will.
Now, on a personal/human level, this seems very fucked up. But if it is truth to the fact that everything Ghost makes they (him) put back in the band - then more power too them (him). Ghost seems like his baby, his brainchild. But of course band members should be compensated and treated fairly even though it's a one man band.

So I'm assuming he did get his fair share from the royalties he has. The people involved are suing to SEE if there was any money held back from them. They don't even know, so I'm not going to jump to any conclusions just yet. Omega leaving was a different situation, he didn't want to tour anymore and the time on the road took its toll on him. That had nothing to do with the lawsuit. With Omega gone it IS Papa's show and he did offer them contracts twice but they declined. They are reaching for something that might not even be there. Time will tell.

No clue.
I was thinking Papa was the dick in all of this until the ex members starting taking pop shots at the new members and then started a band basically stealing everything Ghost did image and back story wise, and now that it's come out that he did offer them deals multiple times and they turned it down because they THINK there is money being hidden I'm not so sure.
Either way the ex members are being really childish about the whole thing.
