SO it's official, Lando is a pansexual. According to SJW Lucasfilm, this sort of thing is more important than actually making a good film. I'm confused as to why this was even said, unless there's a scene in Solo where Lando is fucking a girl, whilst simultaneously sucking a cock, then why does this post production narrative even matter? The whole Finn/Rey thing make sense now, Political Correctness gone mad.
It doesn't make sense since Lando was always hitting on Leia.
what do you mean by always? from memory there is one scene in Empire when they land the Falcon on Cloud City. Han steps in and says to him "you old smoothie" and that's it. after that Leia's having a go at him while Chewbacca chokes him for betraying them. The only way this new trilogy can be saved is if Kylo Ren kills all the good guys (Finn/Rey/Poe etc). I'm just glad Holdo killed herself. I don't know who was worse Rose or Holda... maybe Rose because the b*tch lived.

I still haven't got around to watching the last one. Maybe one day if it shows up on Netflix.

Geez you guys are a bunch of sooks! You need to lower your expectations... Nostalgia is a killer for anything that is old and was great.
I think all the new movies have had at least some redeeming qualities and each movie contained a few killer parts. I do agree that there has been some dumb ass shit in them too but I haven't let that ruin it for me.
I think this solo movie may be a massive hit because it seems everyones expectations are so low. It should be a fair bit different to what we have seen prior. It's just been cool to hate on star wars ever since the napster thing.

Also they killed him off (like Luke Skywalker). Lando gay? Star Wars is finished. The End.

Solo won't surpass Rogue One.

Fun fact; Solo due to the reshoot Solo cost more to make than The Force Awakens

Lack of all round interest talking to humanoids? this Alden guy just doesn't give off a Han vibe. he doesn't have to be a Ford clone but to be a young Solo you need to capture the character. what we really need is a Chewbacca movie

My local pre-orders for Solo this saturday. This was sold out for TLJ, I had to go on a Monday Morning at 9am. I bet it will be very similar when Episode 9 is released. maybe by then Disney will get the message that people want a good story. not SJW crap in their Star Wars.

The trilogy will be in trouble if they've really killed off Luke and turned him into a force ghost. I'm hoping he's alive and well being a grumpy old man.

Someone mentioned an R2D2 spin off. I'd watch that. Probably would end up being the best one. No bad acting or shit dialogue, no love triangle, just R2 doing his thing through out the galaxy.

The first half of Wall-e was great.
We all know R2 was the real hero in the original trilogy.

I thought Solo was a decent film. Just a few things I didn't like id like to get out of the way:
The origin of Han's last name. That was so on the nose that George Lucas would have been jealous.
Emilia Clarke. Maybe it's just me but ive never been a super big fan of her acting. Even in Game of Thrones. She wasnt terrible but something about her was just off to me.
I wish they would have spent a bit more time diving into the relationship of Han and Chewie. It feels like they just kinda met and they didnt take any time to mention life debts or anything like that. Chewie was one of my favorite parts of the film but I do think they should have spent just a few more minutes with that.
"EQUAL RIGHTS!" I have nothing against L3 or current social/political commentary being tastefully integrated into Star Wars but I wish they would have churched the dialogue a bit more so that it felt Star Warsey. It took me out of the film because the dialogue was too much like a tumblr post and not enough like a Star Wars droid
Things I loved:
Lando. Donald GLover did a great job.
Alden did a great job as Han too which imo was much more impressive considering EVERYONE hated his casting. He doesn't look like young Harrison Ford at all, and the rumors about him needing an acting coach. That just makes his job that much harder. He pulled it off with flying colors. Especially when it came to little facial expressions like Han's signature smirk and how he posed while firing his blaster. After a few minutes into the movie. My suspension of disbelief easily kicked in and all was fine.
DARTH FUCKING MAUL + the other references and easter eggs. What an insane cameo. Just like Rogue One, the standalone films did a fantastic job respecting the lore and expanded universe of Star Wars. I can imagine that lots of people were confused. (My theater audience gasped and cheered) but Im one of the few people who think that the general audiences are smart enough to just google how he survived or watch his Clone Wars and Rebels arc on Netflix. It's a ballsy move throwing such a huge animated series reference in there but i'm sick of studios like Marvel being too scared of confusing the "filthy casuals" (I kid, I kid, nothing wrong with being a casual fan)
The visuals. It's ILM of course the visuals are top notch. I think one of my favorite shots was when Han, Tobias, Chewie, Rio, and Val were leaving Mimban and you could see battle going on all the way to the horizon with all the TIEs flying around and stuff.
Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos was a compelling villain. The whole time I was scared he was gonna lose his shit out of nowhere like any good mob boss.
Chewie. This was Chewies best movie. We finally got to see him rip some dudes arms off!
L3. As silly as the idea of a feminist droid is. I dug it outside of some cringy out of place dialogue (as mentioned up above) I thought she was a cool character. Not quite as good as K2So though. Also it's neat that she is basically the millennium Falcon now. As C3P0 says in Empire: "Sir, I don't know where your ship learned to communicate, but it has the most peculiar dialect.""
And I never knew how much I would love a Gonk droid rioting until I saw this movie.
Enfy's Nest. First of all the Maruaders theme music is fucking awesome. Second of all. Enfy's nest was probably my favorite new character design in this movie. It's just cool, Boba Fett cool. thankfully Enfy's Nest has a bit more character depth, nothing crazy but shes intriguing and I look forward to seeing her fleshed out. Also Benthic from Rogue One is one of her crewmates as well as (and this is probably the strangest cameo for me) Warwick Davis's character "Weazel" who last time we saw him was watching little Annie podrace.
All in all I thought it was a decent fun film. I went into it cautiously optimistic. Han was never my favorite character so it wasnt a movie that I was super excited to see made but I viewed the film the same as when I buy a Star Wars comic book. I expected nothing but a small scale story with fan service and no earth shattering revelations. I was satisfied.
