Developed? The time line from Force Awakens to this movie is about 3 days Rey goes from collecting scrap on Jakku to besting Luke Skywalker before the week is out, and then rather than some revelation that she's of some pedigree Jedi master race to be that powerful, her parents were just junkers. What awesome character development... Finn does nothing, in fact he's only written into this movie because he was popular in the first, his entire presence is inconsequential to the plot. Poe didn't really do much again, except have his penis put in place by purple hair. Back to movie writing 101 with you. And if you can't see the feminist agenda in the symbolism, let alone that purple Broad, then what can I tell you? It's nothing to do with women, it's the portrayal. Liea was a bad mother fucker, she'd give han some shit, but he didn't roll over like a good boy and her make some sarcastic quip, no he would give her shit back. We call that equality. This is Star Wars, not a platform for Kathleen Kennedy to push her personal agenda. Laura Dern's character Holdo aka: the walking popstick with purple fairy floss on top was unnecessary. she was a complete waste of space. Finn who I liked in the TFA becomes an absolute joke. wasting time on Las Vegas planet with Rose who's entire role in the movie was to annoy the sh*t out of me. Rose is the Jar Jar Binks of TLJ. Rose stopping Finn from sacrificing himself was so f*cking stupid. so because Rose has a crush on Finn, all of the Resistance should die?? has anyone seen that photo of Kathleen Kennedy with a group of young women and they are wearing t-shirts that say "the force is female"? The Finn character was always rubbish, the ridiculous love story with Rose made him look even lamer.

Rose stopping Finn from sacrificing himself was so f*cking stupid. so because Rose has a crush on Finn, all of the Resistance should die?? has anyone seen that photo of Kathleen Kennedy with a group of young women and they are wearing t-shirts that say "the force is female"? Yep, she's a fucking idiot and a terrible businesswoman. You don't get a new audience by alienating your historic fan base, the movie deserved to tank (comparatively). The whole film is full of her militant feminist agenda, that is almost as blatant as that t-shirt. It's like the entirety of the movie was to disrespect the original trilogy in any way she could; Luke was a cock Luke dies Chewie turns vegmatarian - a lifestyle championed by militant feminists. Admiral Akber is killed off without so much of a passing mention. Which brings us onto Holdo. A new Admiral that served no purpose other than to ridicule Poe, made terrible management decisions that resulted in a mutiny and died a death that should have been made by Princess Leia.
While we are talking about Poe. He 100% made the correct decision on assaulting the Dreadnought when they had the chance. He was chastised and demoted for causing the lives of a hundred resistance fighters, and the loss of some bombers and fighters. For What? Well the trade off for these devastating resistance loses was the destruction of a star-ship that would have cost the First Order billions to build, and the loss of tens, if not hundreds of thousands of enemy combatants and senior officers. I'm assuming there was plenty of supplies, weapons, fighters and other transports on-board too.
In military terms this would be a resounding success.

I think the Luke/Kylo Ren storyline was interesting and should've been expanded upon, my problem with the films is that Finn/Rey are not credible as lead characters.

" it's not that I hate women or am afraid of them. if I was scared of myself it'd be f*cking difficult to sleep at night" I agree with her. if I had to choose a gender for the force I'd say male as well. but as the force is a force thankfully I don't have to choose a gender for it.

Star Wars kind of lost its magic with Disney after these movies. Do you think the hype will increase no matter what with Han Solo movie and the next SW movie?

I have no interest in the SOLO film. the guy they got to play Han looks & sounds nothing like a young Solo. at least Ewen McGregor captured what a young Obi Wan might be like. Episode 9, f*cking forget it. Carrie Fisher is sadly no longer alive to play Leia, she's the only character that I give 2 sh*ts about. they either kill a character you care about or make a new character with no depth or background story. the best thing that could happen with Episode 9 is that they kill Rose. put her in the Sarlac and fans can watch her get digested for 2 hours... actually that might be worth watching

Star Wars kind of lost its magic with Disney after these movies. There's a few reasons for this: 1. They are using the OT (and to some extent the prequels) as a template for the new films and are bringing very little new to the saga 2. The most important leads are being killed off (Han/Luke/Leia), unfortunately the new characters are not strong enough to replace them. 3. Love him or hate the creative force Lucas behind the saga is gone (even the prequels are better than the new films).

I don't know anyone that is going to see it, the word on Wall Street is that Disney are preparing a write off. Disney need to understand that the core audience is the main trilogy, they need to fix what Ryan Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy have done with TLJ, preferably by removing Kennedy, and write and create a film people want to see. Box Office for TFA was 2.1 Billion Rogue One - 1 bilion TLJ - 1.3 Billion. That's a loss of 800 million on the trilogy alone, let alone the lack of toy sales etc. The difference between TFA & TLJ are it's bombing in China and lack of repeat viewings from the core audience. This is also reflected in the poor Blu Ray & DVD sales. Star Wars is massively in the red and is not being anywhere near as profitable as it was expected. Disney need to sort out episode 9 or I fear that the fans will drop it like a burning sack of shit. Kennedy and her "let th epast die, kill it if you have to" fails to understand that it is the past fans that have kept it alive, kids don't like Star Wars like they used to, and they have 4 billion to claw back before they make a dime.

That's chump change to Disney. They don't care about the fans, they care about having another cash cow. One of their scouting parties hunted down Lucas, Lucas gave into buying Lucasfilms, Disney capitalized on the idea that Lucas had planned 3 more movies. Disney put it in a mixing pot, threw J.J Abrams into there and out came the first one. Then they put Rian Johnson in there, out came the next one. They don't give a fuck, they're half-assing a new Star Wars trilogy cause the nostalgia train that is Hollywood is desperate for ways to entertain audiences without sacrificing their own money. Sure they might be in the red, but I guarantee you that Disney has a plethora of other franchises ready to come out of the assembly line. They already announced Toy Story 4 for fucks sake. They're a machine at this point preying on all these people who want to relive the good ol' days with these movies that were great. There's no originality in Hollywood anymore, all the good films are either low-key, sleeper hits, or they're indie films that the mainstream audience doesn't notice. That's why they cling on to these franchises to dear life, but at the same time, they have plenty of them.
