Watching Taylor Hawkins stream ( very poor, nothing official this time ) and looks like Lars will be playing in about 1 hour from now. Playing with Seb Bach and Geezer, dont know what song but expecting at least 1 typical Sabbath track. He's CRUSHING Supernaut right now. I'd love a Metallica cover of this. Line up is Seb, Bach, and Lars with the Foos guitars. Paranoid next. I'm glad Geezer is back playing. He couldn't make the Ozzy/Tony thing last month because of an injury. |

Cool beans. Sebastian sounded way off key during paranoid though, other than that, this was nice. Maybe Lars will be inspired to go record some covers with that other band he's in.

It’s a cigar.
Is there a product out there that they haven’t slapped their logo on yet? In the last couple of years it’s just been watches, boots, whiskeys, beer, and more that I’m forgetting no doubt, and now cigars.
Maybe they should throw their logo on a new album of music just for something different, that would really shake up their Instagram marketing strategy.

I would like a sequel to Metallica Guitar Hero, or at least a version with updated, modern graphics, and a few bonus songs from Hardwired. For all the work that went into it, Kirk and James look especially bad. James looks like a zombie, while Kirk looks like a drug dealer from Venice Beach.

Most of their social media posts these days make me cringe. It's all products, sponsorships, branding at its worst. And it feels like it gets worse every year.

They seem to be following the same marketing strategy of bands that, sadly, no longer exist. It's all the same shit the "Motorhead" and "Pantera" corporate committees put out to keep milking the brand for all it's worth.

It's been interesting watching the public opinion on the Metallica v Napster thing change over time. When I got into the band around 2008, it was still mostly negative with a few people saying "hmm Lars did have a point." Fast forward to now, 90% of Facebook comments on articles regarding it are pro-Lars.
