Housebound
It was ok, mildly funny in places. The older lady in the house reminded me so much of one of my Aunts. The way she spoke was exactly like her so that was amusing.

I watched Elysium last night and it was better then I thought it would be. I really hate Matt Damon but was able to tollerate him for once. The movie is very dirty and gritty. Makes you feel like you are suffocating while you watch it. Great Sci-fi action. Some cool gore. And a great story. 2 thumbs up.

The Monuments Men
I knew this wasn't supposed to be good, but based on the cast and the plot I was really hoping the hate wasn't warranted so I checked it out on Netflix. Yep it's bad, and I only made it halfway through.

10 Cloverfield Lane getting pretty great reviews. No Cloverfield monster by the way. I think Abrams wants the Cloverfield name to be a high concept, low budget anthology series like The Twilight Zone, with some loose connections and themes.

The fact that it isn't a direct sequel to Cloverfield and doesn't feature the monster? Abrams has been saying all that in interviews for a couple of weeks now. You can't really spoil what a film isn't. Outside of that, I know literally nothing about the movie other than the trailer, so there's nothing for me to spoil.

There might be a monster, it just isn't the one from the first film. That's been known for a while now. Abrams two weeks ago: "This movie is very purposefully not called Cloverfield 2, because it's not Cloverfield 2. The association is clear and there are multiple connections – and there is a bigger idea at play for us with these movies and this connection. And while the Cloverfield monster isn't in this movie, there's something else that happens… but I don't want to ruin it"

I purposely avoided to read anything about the movie because I didn't wanna know. Anyways you probably did me a favor in the end because I had hoped the monster would appear in the movie. Just remember in the future that not everybody reads every interview about movies :)

If it was in the movie, I wouldn't wanna know either, I'd want it to be a surprise, but knowing what the movie isn't doesn't spoil the movie it just readjusts expectations. It's in half of the review blurbs on Rotten Tomatoes so it's not something that is supposed to be a surprise. You should totally still go see it at the cinema; it's getting fantastic reviews (even better than the first film), and the third act is seemingly insane.

I'm going to the movies this Sunday with my wife and am 95% sure we are going to see Cloverfield since there is really not much else besides Dead Pool, we were going to see Starwars but it happenes to be getting pulled from our cinimas this week. So if Cloverfield is any good and not just hyped up I'll fill you guys in.

For all we know the connection between the movies is that they're about big monsters, just not the same one.

10 Cloverfield Lane - I saw it last night, I really liked it. I didn't enjoy Cloverfield, but I love John Goodman and I got a free pass. John Goodman was excellent as usual. It's a much different movie than the original Cloverfield.
The director, Dan Trachtenberg, made this Portal short:

HOW it could be that horrible is just beyond me.
