Saw Suicide Squad, I'm not sure why it's getting so much hate. I thought it was a fun movie overall.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
pointless "advantage" over the Swedish version is Fincher's stylish camera movements, which is not of relevance to the advancement of the story. Everything else, including the stupid score, is inferior in every way. They even make Lisbeth Mikael's little bitch, whereas in the other version he's the one who ends up totally pining for her.
The social commentary is toned down, the time the characters spend together visiting all the murder places are all done in a hurry by Lisbeth alone (which removes elements to them getting closer to one another)..and Lisbeth's attachment to Blomkvist is also made just for the sake of it. (whereas in the Swedish movie we see her stalking him, and his passiveness and confusion contribute to us understanding why she's interested in him, he's a good guy who has done nothing and is going to prison for it, and so she as someone with a bad past is understandably interested in him.) that's nowhere in this version.
And Mara just stands there, why the Oscar nod?
even the beginning credits were dumb. what is this, a Bond flick?

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
Super fun and silly movie. Lots of gore, T&A and comedy. There is one part where the dude is hanging out of a window by holding on to an old man zombies cock, and stretching the hell out of it before it snaps off. Lots of laughs all around. Worth checking out if you want something super easy to get into with not much thought required.
Watched it on Netflix.

The Shallows
Girl alone vs. Shark and not once I felt anything remotely close to edge of seat stuff..no sensation of impeding danger, claustrophobia, nothing. It's because of all the "clutter" and the wide shots I guess. If they had spent as much effort in thinking about this as they did in making the pretty photography this could have been a pretty decent flick.

Come and SeeI've always heard about this movie and how just plain fucked up it is but kind of put off watching it because I didn't really buy into the hype. Last night I was laying in bed and decided to watch it because I couldn't sleep. Huge mistake. It might be one of the best movies I've ever seen, and at the same time I wish I never saw it. Talk about one of the most fucked up movies ever, it really makes you think. If any of you think about watching this, don't do it before you go to sleep like I did and don't read much about it. The whole thing is on Youtube, just load it up and sit back and get ready for one of the most horrifying and depressing movies ever. I added the links for any of you that are interested.
