The Walk - well made and entertaining , really liked it.
Event Horizon - I'm a huge fan of Sam Neil so it's hard not to like his stuff! the concept was great , execution was a bit weak but still a very solid sci-fi thriller.
The Boy - ruined by dragging and weird direction changes. the atmosphere is really good and builds up nicely but it just never hit it and eventually gets dull.

I recently re-watched the magnificent Finnish documentary Miesten vuoro (internationally known as Steam of Life), which deals with Finnish men in the traditional Finnish sauna. The stereotypical Finnish man never talks about his feelings, not to other men anyway. But in this movie, we hear extremely personal stories ranging from fatherhood and close friendships to serving time in prison and death of a loved one. All these stories are recounted between friends while sitting in the steaming sauna. Now, I don't know how well the movie translates to people from other countries, but for me, as a Finn, it's deeply touching and relatable, and I can't watch the film without crying. It's definitely up there as my Top 5 movie of all time.

The Perfect Host
Quite entertaining and interesting seeing the guy who plays Niles in Frasier in it.

Space Cop, the latest Redlettermedia film.
Still better than the prequels.

Independence Day 2. It was very bad. I usually just turn my brain off and enjoy movies like this but it was just so bad. Bad acting, terrible dialogue, not even that much landmark destruction, which is of course what everyone came to see. I missed Will Smith watching it, he would have at least been an entertaining lead especially alongside Goldblum.

Everything was wrong with it, everything

Bat Vs Superman Dawn of Justice - The Super long, extended 48 hour ultimate edition
I didn't particulary like Man of steel and I'm pretty fed up with super hero movies these days, but I quite like this one to be honest. Even with it's obvious flaws I actually really enjoyed it. The ending was not good though

I watched The Resurrection of Jake The Snake Robert, last night. It's was actually a really moving doc. I always liked DDP as wrestler but I like him even more as a person now.

I really hope they don't screw this one up. For a while there were rumours of carrot top playing Penny wise. I'm sure they will still cut out a lot, I mean how can they include Bev's big gang bang without getting flak. I really hope they do good on this one.

Nothing at all to do with the fact that IMAX 3D is by far the most expensive way to see a film and you're desperate for box office numbers ? rofl...

I finally watched the first half of Force Awakens last night, not as bad as I was expecting, so far so good. I'll finish it tomorrow. Light years better then the prequels, that's for sure.
