Album delayed for a photoshoot that takes like what a day at worst and was already completed over a month ago ?
Some people want the album to be late.

Some people always need shit to moan about. Misery loves company. You don't find it pretty odd that an American heavy metal band advertises Italian luxury menswear ? I don't care about skateboards, vans etc I find all that pretty cool. But this, I don't see that point.

Plus this is no different to the Load-era fashion choices. Just this time, it has a brand label attached to it. I love the band. I love their music. That's my focus. For me - caring about this stuff is because i would be worried or concerned about what other people thought about the band or that it might make people view them in a negative light. I don't really give a shit how or what other people think about Metallica.

What if it went down like this :
Hey guys do you want to advertise our clothes ? It'll take a couple of hours at most and you get to keep your clothes at the end?
Yeah why not !

It's odd, but I don't care. They got bills to pay. I'm sure they got a nice sum for a few hours work. They probably realize that when the new album drops, its won't bring in millions over night with the way things are these days so they are just trying to even things out with a quick cash grab. Why not, I would.

Ehh, I don't mind it. Cross-promotion is pretty common in many walks of life. Just hope this won't delay the new album any FURTHER than 2017. ;)

The different hat tells me It's a different style in the music, which is fine with me. I'll take a jazzy rock album again anyway. This throwback to justice vibe got old after a while. That's just me though! Rock on!!!!

Apparently Lars has given an interview on Facebook and describes the new album as " not too over thought or over produced. Raw & going for more of a mood . "
I think this is a good thing. Death magnetic sounded strangled. I hope it means that the energy levels are high in the playing like on St Anger and the sonics of Lulu.
Thoughts ?

I always take their interpretation of new music with a grain of salt (cf. Kirk, St Anger era 'It sounds like Meshuggah') but I am, obviously, eager to hear what they come up with this time around. At this stage in my fandom (28 years or so) I'm pretty much sold on most things they do as a band. I even think We Did It Again has some plus points. What I love most is that, right now on July 2nd, it actually feels like we're going to get a new album this year. It genuinely feels like by the end of the year some of us will be espousing how good the album is and some of us will be shitting on it. Either way, I can't wait.

If that Quote is real my expectations sunk to 1 out of 10. Enough of this "raw and underproduced" mindset. It did suit the band in 1987 not in 2016. The last "raw and underproduced" albums sounded shit... Say goodbye to vocal harmonies and production value and welcome to LoS guitarsound and horrible snare

Enough of "raw" shit, just make it sound fucking good. That's all I ask.

Raw and underproduced doesn't have to mean St Anger.
Garage Inc. Disc 1 was underproduced..
Minimal takes. Live feel. It doesn't have to be a bad thing.

The problem is the bands questionable mixing decisions since 2002. They have always talked about the raw sounding record. While spouting Death Magnetic and St Anger. Garage Inc Disc 1 is the best produced album they've got, the problem is they dont have Randy Staub and are too glad in compression combined with horrible guitarsounds. I am expecting a LoS type of mix

This just made my penis invert:( WTF. For the love of Pete just make the production sound like a normal album produced in 2016, not like " raw" chicken butthole. I don't get it, why remaster DM on iTunes, then go back to "raw" anal leakage; however I will take this with a gain of salt and not truely judge until I hear it for myself. They say a lot of cookey crap about new albums:)

Yeah I do believe it will sound a lot better than DM, the DIO medley and Lulu were much better. But I don't think we will get Garage production.

I donĀ“t know what to expect anymore. There are dozens of dozens example of this horrible attitude that "our own shit must sound like realz metal garage crap".
Before Death Magnetic: Releasing "Remember Tomorrow" = Albeit, some clipping still had a nice snare, reverb, ok-ish guitar sound and audible bass. Death Magnetic: Steaming pile of mess production wise.
2010-2015: Releasing Lulu, TTN, Ronnie Rising and When A Blind Man Cries. All sounding from good to really great. Lots of reverb, huge drums, audible bass, harmonies. New material "Lords of Summer": Complete garbage again. Horrible sounding guitars, drums in the DM mould, dry vocals and basstracks inaudible.
So I am actually expecting the worst... But hope for the best.
If they indeed release a horrible sounding record - I am done.

One of the biggest bands on the planet simply cannot put
out three bad sounding albums in a row.
Something is very wrong indeed if they do.
Especially these days when you can make great pro
sounding albums in home studios.
