Secondly, I would love to see Metallica try something like Maiden did with EOTC. The gambit worked for Maiden, and the result was arguably one of their best songs to date.
Even if it didn't work for Metallica, it would at the very least be interesting.
But yeah, it's not going to happen. Only a complete moron would even suggest the possibility of something like that happening.....cough.

:shrug: I think All Nightmare long is arranged ok.
No part of it feels like " wow that part came out of nowhere " .
Not like in The Shattered Fortress by Dream Theater were a new section comes in and there's no build up to it - it just changes key by a semitone and it's REALLY dissonant.

Well I don't agree with this at all. TSF is fantastic, even if it is mostly stuff from previous songs. I only meant that one change in Shattered Fortress. When it goes into the Root Of All Evil reprise. It literally just changes key by a semitone.

I wonder if we will get a single soon, if they are mixing the album. I reckon they'll play a new song at the gig in August and the studio single will be out either just before or just after. |
