The comments Lars made there felt like laying the groundwork for this "unexpected delay". Still, I'll gladly be disproven. I'm just not feeling the "2016 vibe". |

I'm wondering why they would delay the album release if it's finished, maybe because they aren't happy with the songs and want to fiddle with them.

Well, once they release it, they will have to go into full PR mode. All those appearances etc. Maybe they have some other things coming up, family stuff like weddings and vacations planned. Or, something like Rob's movie that they want to respect and give it some space before the Metallica hypetrain takes off and consumes them all for a while. |

If he was absolutely certain that the album would be out this, year, he would've said "The album will be out this year, period." |

Lars never speaks in absolutes unless it's actually "out there", either via a press release or statement from the band. He always hedges his bets. I'm confident we'll see something before the end of the year. |
