Harvester always has and always will be one of their greatest live songs, and one of my favourites. Could have done without the Kill Em All style squeal before the solo though. That squealing is fucking the worst. He has this weird habit or obsession for high pitch screams since 2013. This is probably in my top 3 things that annoy me in modern Metallica. I think that, since Dehaan he started singing Horsemen verses with this high pitch killem all style. I miss his growls and barks and overall lower singing style approach that he did earlier.

Heading out to the show soon. I'll post a bit and check in at some point. If there is some disastrous turn of events, like the island sinks or something, and you guys don't here back from me by tomorrow, assume I am dead and its been fun with you all.

Free wifi ??? Da fuck, is this 2010? In my broke ass world, yes. Took it easy today, I'm pretty trashed. So many good memories. Was talking to this one girl in the snakepit who was solo, who travelled from the mother fucking YUKON! Two brothers next to us where cool guys. But the best was our security guard. He was a young kid who really didn't care to be there, we had him rocking with us by the time Metallica where into Atlas. Of course when NEM and Sandman came on his eyes lit up. Super awesome guy. Every time I would leave the pit and pass the front row crowd I acted like a superstar giving out high fives and running past them like a fool and getting everyone to cheer and shout Metallica! It was a blast. Having the guys playing right over my face a dripping sweat on me literally was a dream come true. All the guys where fired up and really into it. James kept missing my hand, my friend was laughing at me for that. He saw how hard I was trying to get that physical contact. Kirk looked me right in the eyes many times and gave me a good high five at one point and dropped some picks right on top of my head. Rob was in super goofball mode and was awesome to see that close. He is a beast! Give me a good fist bump and I got a pick from him as well. Sing along at the end of Memory and Halo where epic. Kirk flubbed the intro solo to One (no surprise there). No "how does it feel to be alive" crap in the middle of Fade, that's always nice. Got to finally here FFWF in full (caught the kill ride medley on the load tour) so that made me fucking grin. Those pyrotechnics are hot, you really feel them. Coolest moment was during fade, the fireworks from the other side of the island started so they projected them onto the side screens with James on the middle screens. Getting out of the venue was a nightmare but an adventure. Walked for about 2 hours to get back into town, this after standing up for 10 hours. Some crack head chick from Halifax was clinging to us and slowing us down with her nonsense. Stupid girl was following us through dark woods and stuff, had no idea who we where or where she was going, we finally led her to the casino and managed to shake her off. She's lucky we are decent. Great time!

No, he spit next to us. Dude next to me got handed a drumstick. He posted about it on the other board. Volbeat and Avenge kicked ass and where fun to watch.
Drum off during Dead, I have trashed it prior and hated it. Live, in person, it was really cool, the power hitting you in the chest, just wow. Same with Atlas. I feel the song is a bit clunky, but live in person it works.

Awesome, did they use the snake pit much ? I was in it in 2012 and they were on it all the time. I've heard other dudes saying they used it maybe once during the show. Which is too bad.

Nice write up. It's funny how shit that's awful on youtube is great live.....Rob's spin in Seek was something seems lame but works when you're there
It's weird seeing pics of people who have been just user names and text on a screen to me for years....I forget you're all real people with faces.

They used it enough times that for most of the show I didn't know which way to look. I almost missed out on my high five from kirk because I was busy looking at James in another direction. What an awesome experience. Its so cool that when Rob gets closer, his bass gets louder, like a dinosaur coming at you.

Haha yeah I remember not knowing where to look when all 3 were on the ramp at the same time. It's indeed a very cool experience. Rob didn't have that monitor thingy back then, sounds awesome.

As Rob walks around the snakepit, the sound guys boost his volume in the PA's closest to him. As he approaches you, his bass gets louder. Nothing overwhelming, just enough to give you that extra rumble in your guts.
