Yeah Arch has been fairly outspoken over the years about how overrated Ghost is and how there are so many better "retro" style metal bands out there. And I kind of agree tbh.

I saw them way back at Roadburn 2011. I knew there was a buzz about them but didn't really know anything else about them, and I thought they were ok/good. Decent live show, but nothing really remarkable on the songs front. I can understand the hype on the Metallica forum, because y'know, James wore their shirt, but I can't fathom their overall popularity. Whatever, they are catchy and obviously fill a niche that is too small for my tremendous cock. (That's how we forum here, right?) Is Wockanocka says, I much prefer, say, Sabbath Assembly (at least the version with Jex Thoth, who fronted them in a way that was kinda spooky and absolutely compelling, and not just because she's gawgiss, though she did use that to great effect).    But I digress. I fairly quickly found Ghost's schtick kinda tiresome, and while it's pointless to begrudge the attention that an (imo) over-rated band gets, as if more (imo) meritorious bands would get that attention if they didn't exist... I kinda do. |

Maiden still putting on a good show + Ghost is a big bonus I was going to go but it was between that and Metallica because of money (thanks Metallica, between tickets/parking/gas I spent close to $300.00) so I chose Metallica. I've seen Ghost a few times on this tour and Maiden is mainly playing a lot of new stuff, which I like but it's not something I need to see. Metallica barely comes here anyway so I had to see them because who knows if they will ever come back. |

I thought it was alright but the most interesting thing about it was just hearing the song that stripped down and to hear Papa's vocals in a different way. I don't mind her voice in it but what I did mind was the drum beat during parts of the chorus in that version. I love that artwork by the way. I love how it's colored. I'm glad I managed to get myself a copy of the Square hammer/He is picture disc. |

If it lost the drums I think it would be a good rendition. |

I have to say this is the best band i discovered lately. I have heard this the first time about 6months ago. I have listened to the 3 albums (there are only 3, right?) and i love (almost) every song. Now i listen to the band daily and that is rare for me. I listened to metallica and nirvana for the last 15years daily and now finally something else to listen to. I am very difficult to find something that i like (music). Thank you ghost!
