I know this is heresy, and I don't know what it is exactly, but I'm really bored of this band. I fucking loved them for a few years, saw them live and they were fantastic, but since Meliora, which I did like for the most part, I'm just not interested in listening to them. Melioria didn't hit me like their first two albums did, I don't like this new EP at all, and I don't find myself interested in what's going on with them. This might only be the third time I've even entered this thread! What's wrong with me? Also, which one was Omega? Now the guitarist I hope. I am a die hard Ghost fan and I somewhat agree. I have totally lost interest after Meliora. They started this uber gimmicky live show, Papa lost his robe, neglecting Opus and this new EP is worthless. And Square Hammer is a shit song. But this is what they want. The band that I started listening to in 2012 might be dead. |

That said, I do still like most of what they've done and they still sound great live |

They've evolved. They keep making better and better music. They have kept their shtick fresh with the evolution of their live show, be it setlists, costumes or the decorations. I love Opus, and when Infest came out, I was pretty dubious, since it was so different from the debut album. But since then I've realized that Opus was kinda like Kill 'Em All - basic stuff, kinda laying the groundwork for the future. And like Metallica, with every album since, they've discovered new things and evolved their sound to something that is unmistakably Ghost.

I love that they have the sound of the Swedish ice-cream truck in the beginning of the video (a sound that basically all Swedes have heard...most people quite a lot too).  Such a Ghost thing to do. |
