The only good thing about new Star Wars movies Fuckin' love the RLM guys. I haven't seen it yet so not in a position to discuss the movie, but the box-office is a disaster. The audience is, clearly, VERY split. My brother watched it though, and said it was "okay". Oh and also, anyone who knee-jerkedly hates all the prequel films is as full of shit as anyone who knee-jerkedly hates these ones. Revenge of the Sith was a great movie.

Okay, finally went and saw the film, by myself, because my gf and daughters couldn't have given a shit less about it.
It seemed like... a trailer for a series of high quality TV films. It just kept moving from one plot-line to the next without any second to take a breath in-between. There were a few moments where I felt really invested (mostly the Rey/Kylo/Palpatine stuff), but the rest of the time it was just.. Fleeting moments.
My take... this was a great trailer for 3 seasons of a really good Star Wars Trilogy.

Only Last Jedi was any way half way decent due to Mark Hamill coming back, otherwise thumbs down for the new trilogy.

I've watched 7 episodes of The Mandalorian and I have to say it's pretty good. I've quite enjoyed watching it

Got dragged into the new one. I'm not really a SW connoisseur fan or anything so I'm not invested into either hate nor worship, but jeebus chrise even I facepalmed multiple times during this.
And that closing moment, oh look I'm the adoptive daughter of a couple...of siblings, hooray emotional incest!!11

Maybe close to being before finding out that they are siblings but not after that (neither while alive nor as force ghosts). You probably know that though. Rey just felt more like a Skywalker than a Palpatine, which I didn't find strange at all. She felt kinship with Luke and Leia; With the Skywalker heritage. Maybe Anakin and Padmé should've been there at the end too, but I think both options would've been bad/less good: Having all four of them there would've been too much and on the nose while having only Anakin and Padmé there would've felt weird when they're not seen at all during the rest of the movie and aren't as important to Rey as the influence of Luke and Leia was/is.

Yeah, I wasn't being serious at all :p Though it's still a lame ending (because the entire movie - even the whole trilogy - lacks a punch before it) so it's just appeal to nostalgia and nothing new. I guess I can treat it as just any other "disengage your brain and eat popcorn" mainstream moviemaking venture, but as a succession of action setpieces, the M:I movies are a more competent action franchise than these, and they have almost nothing to go by in terms of world and character development.

Could Ben be there too? Hm, good question. I'd say yes. Again I feel it would be too on the nose though, since his death occurred closer to the end than Leia's and Luke's. Such circumstances didn't stop Yoda and Anakin from appearing as force ghosts at the end of Return of The Jedi though, so...I don't know. : P

Mate of mine set me up with KODI on my xbox, I'm checking out the movies and there's Rise of Skywalker looking me in the face...
So i watched an old Top Gear.
How Disney fucked it up so badly that I don't even give a fuck about watching it for free...
Wankers.

There's a chap in charge, called Bob, that is not impressed with the lack of box office return and merchandise sales after his 4 billion investment. Apparently he's moving in some of his team, a chap in a cowboy hat and a fella from Swingers, that he's decided will do a better job.

And Bob Iger serves at the pleasure of Mr. Mouse.

Obi Wan series is now on hold... Yes, I was surprised to hear that. They had tio change writers because the director didn't like the writing. Now with the productions stopped all over because that damn corona virus, who knows if we'll ever get to see it.

I don't think it was going to be continued until they reorganise the lucasfilm leadership.
