Not sure I liked it. I'm also pretty sure I hate the direction the movies have gone. I like that it's going away from star Wars by numbers.

I thought the lightsaber battle in Snoke's throne room was really good. better than the one at the end of the film imo. I would've liked more Chewbacca in the film... we see him with the Porgs in the Falcon but I can't remember much else.
the film lost pace with Fin & Rose going to that planet to find a hacker or whatever he was suppose to be.
I don't know what they can do with Episode 9 now, Carrie is no longer with us and you can't replace her with another actress. the producer already said they aren't going to CGI her character.

So....
Kylo Ren will probably be defeated in the next episode No more Princess Leia Finn will probably die
Predictable much?

Reading the interwebs the amount of people criticising the director for killing off Snoke, no Rey back story etc... Do they really think a start to finish storyboard for this trilogy was not in place at the start? There's no way each director gets to choose the direction as soon as they get the reigns. Idiots.

Almost every user review from IMDB is bad, don't know why it was a great movie. Killing off Snoke without explaining where he came from was little bit disappointing.

Rian has been quoted as saying it was HIS decision to kill Luke off. He said he was nervous bringing it up to Disney; but of course Disney were all for it.

Lets kill off the only character that made the new trilogy watchable...great idea!!!

Not sure I liked it. I'm also pretty sure I hate the direction the movies have gone. It is very formulaic almost cartoon like.

Absolutely loved The Last Jedi. My only problems were
1. Not Empire vs Not Rebels. Had this issue with TFA and it continues here. They even pretty much start calling themselves rebels again.
2. Everything that happened in the OT was for nothing. Luke failed at bringing the Jedi back, Leia failed at bringing the republic back, Han failed at his marriage with Leia and raising his son. Everything is reset back to square one. OR square 2 since we are at Empire Strikes Back in this new trilogy.
3. Canto Bight. I have a love hate relationship with this. It was the least interesting part of the movie. But I loved the setting. I loved all of the weird looking aliens. I thought DJ was an intriguing character and the whole weapons trade thing and slavery was at least a good bit of world building. That said. It takes me out of the movie when they have a casino with hundreds of background characters and there are literally ZERO old alien species in there. No Hutts, No Twi'leks, Rodians, Toydarians, NOTHING! I understand the people making these costumes wanna make their own shit but geeze at least throw something in to mix it up. This new sequel has no throwback species. It makes it feel like a completely different universe.
4. The Soundtrack. It wasn't bad at all. John Williams isn't capable of making a bad soundtrack. But nothing stood out to me at all. TFA had Rey and Kylo's theme and Jedi Steps which were awesome. I can't really remember any parts of the soundtrack in this one that wasn't just a remix of past films.
Everything else. i loved. It surprised me. It wasn't a rehash of old plotlines (outside of vague similarities like Jedi training, the big bad trying to convert the good guy and being killed and AT-ATs in a desert) and I feel like it has a lot more rewatchability than TFA. Yodas quotes were just as wise and quotable as they were in the OT. I'm also they didnt cop out and do some bullshit Gray Jedi thing and im glad Luke really wasnt "The Last Jedi" I can't wait to see Rian Johnson's new trilogy.

I didn't see it as being Luke's death when he faded away, it reminded me of Yoda in ROTJ. like it was Luke's turn to go... how many years was he on that island when he could have been fighting the First Order? force blue Luke will be in the next one. I just don't know what they are going to do with Leia. no one can replace Carrie. also, I'm not bothered Snoke got smoked thought it was great how his bottom half fell on the floor from his throne.

I hope Luke will appear as force ghost in the next one and how the hell are they gonna write Carrie off?

That's life, everything Obama did was for nothing now Trump is trying to undo it all. Life has no destination.

Anyone else think the code breaker, as described, was lando? Ummm, no, because they showed the code breaker at the casino. He was the guy throwing dice at the table, played by Justin Theroux.

I didn't know who the actor was but I saw a snappy looking white guy with the flower on his jacket. edit: I just watched HISHE's review of the film. it's worth watching imo. yes, there are spoilers in the video.

I really hope Kylo Ren kills all the good guys in the next one (also Luke hasn't died and lives happily ever after).
