I like it and I'm looking forward to the album.
EDIT: I don't love it, but I don't hate it. I thought it was decent, but I find myself happy to wait till the album is released before I listen to it again. Unlike, say the new Zakk Wylde songs, that I've been listening to pretty much every day since they were each released.

Decent song, I definitely don't hate it.
Some weird choices with the vocal delivery though. Those couple spots where Michael Poulsen puts grit into the vocals feel very clumsy and out-of-place. I know he used to be a death metal vocalist, but that grit just doesn't seem to fit here.
Also, at 1:05, it says "Call upon it's father." Doesn't anybody proofread this shit?

The vocals are all over the place throughout the entire song, the instrumentals are too safe and I find literally nothing interesting.
It's probably one of the worst volbeat songs ever

It is extremely safe overall, yeah.
Sounds like he's trying to do some sort of southern Baptist preacher thing in the third verse there, but it sounds weird with the heavily processed vocals. Yet if it didn't have the heavily processed vocals it wouldn't really sound like Volbeat.
Just a clumsily put-together song all around.

Just to add - the version on iTunes sounds horribly compressed. I hope it's not a production thing and just an issue with this pre-album single preview.

Devil's Bleeding Crown doesn't really sound like an opener to me.

Devil's Bleeding Crown doesn't really sound like an opener to me. It really doesn't, especially if you consider their normal openers.

New song.
Knee-jerk reaction, I like this a lot more than Bleeding Crown. It's a fun tune and the emotions actually feel pretty genuine. Those stop/starts are really weird though and don't to anything for the song except fuck up the momentum. It feels to me like someone decided there should be some sudden pauses for no reason in particular, like, it sounds cool in Sad But True so it'll sound cool here as well. Take out those pauses so that the song has a steady flow and this is a great track. It's got a lovely bridge section.

For Evigt is on iTunes/Apple Music.
It's awful. A generic rock song, with a riff/section that is completely lifted from one of their older songs.
EDIT: Holy crap. the same riff is in The Bliss. Both songs sound like Lola Montez from their last album.
EDIT2: Both For Evigt and The Bliss are identical. It's not that they are similar songs. They are the same song. For Evigt has a different guy singing in a different language (Danish I'm guessing)

The album is out now btw
Forgot to mention, it's by far their worst album.

I've listened to it twice now, and I'm actually liking it.
It seems like most people aren't too keen on it, and I wish it was a bit more riffy, but I think it's a fun album.

I can understand why people don't like the album overall, it's not a heavy album by any stretch, nor are there many country style songs or moments, but it has some great songs.
Black Rose is a nice mix of 50's rockabilly and hard rock. Probably my favourite from the album.

I don't like it at all, they have finally left the metal genre for good and embraced the radio rock full on. It's seems like their earlier fans are disappointed and the new ones are quite pleased. For me it's a 3/10 tops

For me it's a 3/10 tops You sound like exactly bitter 80's metal head talking about Metallica when Load was first released. I'm an older-ish fan, and while there're no truely amazing songs on this album, and there are indeed some instant skips, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. There are some cool mid tempo songs that I really like. The metal part of Volbeat is never the component that drew me to the band, as they were never a metal band. It was their unique blend of rockabilly/country/rock with metal that did it. And while this album is light on the country and metal, it's high on the rockabilly - it still sounds like Volbeat. My main criticism is there's nothing on this album that hasn't been done before - I wish there was more variety. All there albums have had the radio rock singles, and they are usually the worst songs on the album (Fallen, Cape of Our Hero, etc...), and those types of songs do seem to make up the bulk of the album, but they aren't as bad as the radio songs of the last couple of albums IMO.

Wow this album is getting a lot of hate all over the Internet! Not really surprising, it's simply a lazy record. At least Outlaw Gents has Doc Holliday and Ecotone, their best songs since Rock the Rebel.

Final verdict:
Songs I like:
The Devil's Bleeding Crown Black Rose Rebound Goodbye Forever Seal the Deal Battleship Chains The Loa's Crossroad Slaytan
Songs that I think are throwaway/forgettable/all sound the same:
Marie Laveau For Evigt/The Bliss The Gates of Babylon Let It Burn Mary Jane Kelly You Will Know
There're no songs I truely hate and have to skip, although For Evigt comes really close.

Yeah I kinda do don't I I was always more keen on their heavier side of things, so naturally this went in the wrong direction for me. I don't mind mind tempo head bobbing songs, but there are just way too many of them. They actually sound very samish and very forgettable too. Don't think it will blend in well live, since their sounds is much heavier and their shows are pretty aggressive, crowd-wise too. That said, I gave it another spin in the car yesterday and it was a tiny wee bit better than my first impression. There is not one scorcher of a song on there, not one, but I like these: Black Rose Seal The Deal And funilly enough I quite like Battleship chains too, I can't really put my finger on why though Slaytan is pretty cool, just way too short The rest are really forgettable, who know's, maybe some of the will grow on me Wow this album is getting a lot of hate all over the Internet! Deservedly Wow this album is getting a lot of hate all over the Internet! Not really surprising, it's simply a lazy record. At least Outlaw Gents has Doc Holliday and Ecotone, their best songs since Rock the Rebel. + Room 24 (King Diamond makes everything awesome) The Hangmans Body Count Lola Montez The Sinner is you And probably their heaviest intro ever - Dead But Rising. Even though the rest is crap
