Yeah, they are great. I took a Sci-fi film class back in university and got to watch so many of those classics up on the big screen along with more modern stuff like RoboCop, The Fly remake and Blade Runner. The class was easy credits, but that's why they scheduled it at 7:30 in the morning, couldn't make it too easy those bastards.

Both on Netflix Lone Survivor If you enjoy war movies, this one will be a winner for you. Like We Were Soldiers, it's based on a true story, is a bit slow to get started, but once it does... Holy shit. It's about this squad of ground troops in Afghanistan who loose communication with base, and are surrounded by like 5000 Taliban soldiers in the mountains. Based on the title of the movie, you can guess what happens next. Very sad stuff. It Came From Outer Space -1950 something They don't make them like this anymore. Fuck all that CG shit. The writing/dialogue is very poetic and the pace and suspense is fantastic. I love those 50s Sci fi movies. Check out Invaders from Mars, one of my favourites. love them too.. watched them often as a kid and is why I am a sci fi geek now

Reminds me, I watched Short Circuit the other night, haven't seen that one from beginning to end in like 20 years, still as great as I remembered. Number 5 is alive!

I watched fast and furious 8, I really enjoyed it, very well built and very entertaining It's surprising how good those Furious movies continue to be. The 8th movie of just about any other series would be complete and utter shit by this point yet somehow Furious just keeps on truckin....

The thing that keeps those movies going is the ROCK and his big COCK.

Why did Netflix remove their rating system? I watched a completely crap movie last night because I had no way of knowing what the reviews look like. (Movie was Last Girl or something like that btw). Shit sucks. Netflix is hit or miss nowadays....

The thumbs up/thumbs down system has caused more people to cast votes than with the 5-star system because they don't have to think about it at all; they can just say "I liked that!" or "I didn't like that!" I'm not a fan of the new system either though. The stars were fine.

Get Out
Nothing really bad to say except that it was predictable. Curious to see what Peele does next.

Shit sucks. Netflix is hit or miss nowadays.... I completely ignored the Netflix ratings anyway because great movies were rated like 2 stars and shit ones were rated 4 stars. People have terrible taste. Just go by rottentomatoes or metacritic. And I think the "best match" thing just goes by what genre of movies you've previously watched.

Sightseers - Weird British film about a couple that go around in a caravan murdering people. It was mildly amusing and funny at times but in general it was just pretty forgettable. I Origins - I generally don't like films that try to promote a supernatural kind of view of the world, but this was pretty good. That elevator scene

So the trailer for The Dark Tower looks horrible. Nothing about it has the same feel to the book imo. I thought they were making something more like The Stand....this feels like an overblown action movie.

I'm not nearly as excited for the Dark Tower as I am for "It".
This version of the Dark Tower apparently takes place after the last book. So without giving any spoilers, the story is not the same story as the books, Ka is a wheel that keeps going around.

God dammit they turned The Dark Tower into a superhero movie. It looks awful. They should have went with the initial idea, a movie following the Gunslinger, then a short series leading into the next book and so on. This looks... Not good

So without giving any spoilers, the story is not the same story as the books, Ka is a wheel that keeps going around. This is so fucking stupid. I was excited to see the series I read almost 20 years ago FINALLY be put on the big screen. This is just some movie "inspired" by the dark tower series. The original story was great and if I remember correctly **SPOILER ALERT** DON'T READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW HOW THE BOOK ENDS... doesn't The Dark Tower end where the Gunslinger begins to tell (almost) the exact same story? How can there be any other story after the events in the Dark Tower series....there's only one story?

Regarding Dark Tower at the end of the book, it implies that there was an infinite amount of attempts by Rolland, and an infinite amount of possibilities for him to retry. Like being stuck in a never ending hell.

Devil's Candy sucked. Everyone needs to know this going in. It's got a 94 or something on RT but it sucked.
