Logan. Loved it. I'm not a superhero movie guy, but I've always had a soft spot for the X-Men since I loved the cartoon. This one was like a normal movie about a guy who happened to have been in superhero movies in the past. Was fucking cool. Any cool trailers before the movie? Logan looks cool, I'll have to check it out. Do I need to watch Xmen Apocalypse to get this film? |

Being familiar with the X-Men franchise helps a bit to get some context on the characters and what they've been through, but yeah it's not mandatory at all.

The new Aliens movie didn't look too bad, the rest of the trailers were just your standard production line super hero movies. |

Alright, guess I'll pass on apocalypse, you guys convinced me.
I've never been able to sit through Gangs of New York, I've always caught it in various segments, tried again last night with no success. Made it through the first hour or so before going to bed. Those where some messed up times back then.

Gangs of New York is awesome. Watch the whole thing then come back and post about how great it is. It was OK, a lot of things left me a bit confused, like why didn't the butcher just kill him after the failed assassination attempt? Why did he only give him these little cuts on his face which seemed to have healed a few scenes later? Why didn't the whole mob of people just kill the butcher during the sheriff's casket procession? Why did that guy hung in the street as an example go off so to be hung so willingly? And why the burst of cheesy music after the last voiceover lines of the movie? It was cool though, just a lot of what was Scorsese thinking moments. |
