Trainspotting 2 - it was dark, humorous, hard-hitting, nostalgic and very entertaining indeed. Yeah it was an interesting film about getting older really. I re-watched the original again yesterday, one of the best films of the 90's. |

Hounds of love - Wow...what a powerful movie. One of the most intense movie experiences I've had. It was really tragic and disturbing. You have to see it.

Saw Passengers tonight. It's not nearly as bad as the critics make it out to be. Could have done with more story though, they didn't even really explain why the ship started failing. In the trailer she says "we woke up early for a reason" so I thought there was some kind of grand scheme by some organization and they deliberately woke them up early for some purpose but basically it's nothing more than a love story.

Watched OUIJA - Origin of Evil, I give it a 7/10. Mostly enjoyable, but once again after the climatic scene, the director seems to say "fuck it, I don't care how you end it, just cut to last scene, I need a drink"

John Wick Chapter 2
The story is just a little lacking, but by god is the choreography good.
Just crazy stylish and fun, but brutal at times. I was quite impressed with it.
There was one sequence in particular with some ground grappling that really inpressed me. They did a great job of showing martial arts that look real but making them stylized enough to be entertaining.
And of course the gunplay is ridiculous and entertaining.
As far as action movies go I think it's about as good as it gets to me.
8.5/10

John Wick 2 got beat by Fifty Shades Darker in the box office. Anyone who expected anything else is delusional. OF COURSE it was going to do better at the box office. John Wick, as awesome as it is, appeals to a considerably smaller audience compared to the multimedia juggernaut that is the Fifty Shades franchise. |

I didn't enjoy the Lego Batman movie as much as the critics and audiences did. The actual Lego movie was much better. My thoughts exactly. I just came home from seeing it. It was fun and silly, but no where near as awesome as the Lego movie. They said dick in it like 300 times, so there was that. |

Silence - Pretty good but like most Scorsese films it runs a bit longer than it should.
Fences - Thought it was just ok, expected better given its high praise.
I saw those two films back to back tonight. My ass is now sore.
